The Real Perpetrator

Within just a few hours, the Xian City's situation has changed a lot after the rumors of a dark sorcerer lurking inside the city have spread. Most of the citizens become afraid to do outside activities and chooses to stay inside their house. Most of the shops are closed, only a few that skeptical and keeps doing activities outside the city or open their shops. Almost every road inside the city is empty with only a few people are using the road and they are walking hurriedly to get to their destiny as soon as possible because they are afraid if they will become the victims of the dark sorcerer.

Jin doesn't understand why the Xian Citizens were easily believed a rumor that the credibility still needs to be questioned. The situation makes Jin getting a hard time moving freely inside the town, not to mention his stomach that is starved because he still not eat any food since last night. Luckily, Jin was used to fasting when he lives with his teacher inside the forest. If he wants to, it will be easy for him to go away from this city, but he is determined to clear his name first as well as catches the kidnapper before he takes another victim.

Jin moves in secretive from one building to the other while keeps sharpening his eyes just in case Moo Yong is visible. From afar, Jin sees someone that he is familiar with. That person is walking alone on the road. She is the old lady that Jin elped her last night. That old lady seems confused with the situation inside the Xian city, she just come to the city a few moments ago. Her house which is far outside the city makes her late on getting any information or rumor inside the city. Jin wants to come at her but he canceled his intention after he sees two guards are coming at her. Jin doesn't know what they are talking about, but the guards start to follow the old woman. Curiosity makes Jin follow them from a far enough distance. The old woman brought the two guards inside the small alley that she stands in front of last night. Jin waits outside the alley entrance while the three of them are entering that Alley. He waits for some time but doesn't patient enough and decided to enter the alley.

From a far distance, a group of guards, that is patrolling on the road, is seeing Jin who suspiciously enters a small alley. The guards feel strange with his action, moreover, Jin is using something to cover his mouth and nose. The guards hurriedly come to enter the alley to follow Jin that according to them is a suspicious man.

Jin walks in secret inside the alley to look for the two guards and the old woman, but, when he walks through the corner, he is shocked by the scenery that he sees. The old woman is touching the heads of the two guards and sucking their souls. She is also shocked to know her action is being seen by someone, she immediately drops her two victims and wants to kill Jin who knows the truth about her. Jin knows if he is in danger and prepares for a battle. But, before both of them clash, someone is yelling from the alley's entrance.

"Hey! Who are you? Stop right there!"

Reflexively, Jin turns his head to the source of the voice and sees the guards are the ones who come and shouted at him. From the guard's position, they are only able to see Jin because the old woman and her two victims were behind the wall. Jin was distracted by the appearance of the guards but he immediately realizes if he was in a dangerous situation and turns his head in the old woman's direction, but, the old woman has gone and what was left are the two dead bodies of the guards that lay on the ground.

The guards are getting closer to his location. Jin needs to decide as fast as possible whether he stays and tells everything to the guards or he just leave that place and hunt that old woman by himself. He understands that he is in a difficult position, if he stays, he will become the only suspect and face the gallows because only he who is on the crime scene without any witness while the old woman who killed the two guards has gone. If he runs, he will still become the suspect but he will have the chance to hunt down the old woman and catches her. In a short time, Jin decides to go away from that place because he doesn't want to put his fate in the guard's hands. He doesn't believe if the guards will try to find the real perpetrator with maximum effort.

Jin runs through the other entrance and stops before leaving the alley. He looks at the guards that are shocked after seeing their dead friends. "I am not the one who killed them, the old woman with donkeys is the perpetrator, you can see the donkey that she left at the entrance of the alley, please trust me.," Jin said to the guards.

"SHUT UP, YOU MURDERER!" one of the guards said angrily. "STAY RIGHT THERE! DON'T MOVE!"

Jin knows that in this kind of time he won't be able to talk in the cool head with the guards, "Listen to me, find the Old Woman who used the donkey, she is the one who killed your friends and she might also be the one who kidn*pped the children." Jin tried to explain as clearly as possible.

"Don't talk rubbish! No one in here besides you. Anyway, your reason is illogical. Impossible for an old woman to kills two skilled guards. Did you want to make fool of us?! Just stay there to take your responsibility." One of the guards said in wrath.

Jin knows if he will not be able to make the guard trusted him, "I am sorry, I don't want to be responsible for the murder of those guards that I didn't do. Please give me some time, I will catch the real perpetrator and bring her to you." Jin disappeared from the front of the guards after said those words.

The guards are shocked to see the way Jin disappeared from their sight. They are getting more believe about the rumor of a dark sorcerer that lurking inside the city and sacrificing other people's lives. All of them immediately going back to the City Hall while bringing their friend's dead bodies to report this matter to their commander, Baok Sa.

Jin is hiding somewhere on the rooftop, he thinks about the old woman's actions that make him remember the past when he was a child where he faces enemies that have the ability to absorb the human's soul. "But, all of them includes their main leader, Rot'un Jere, have been eradicated many years ago. How that old woman can do such a thing?! Did she is one of the survivors of the last battle at the Valley of the Flying Clouds over 6 years ago?! Or, it was another technique that just looks similar?!" Jin asked himself without answers. He knows if all of his questions will be answered when he catches the old woman.
