“Soft.” This is Talia's first thought as consciousness returns to her. She opens her eyes slowly and sees the white silk curtains of her bedroom drawn around her. Sitting up, her head spins as a warm towel falls from her forehead into her lap. “Mistress, please don’t sit up,” Nissa says, pushing her back against the pillows with a gentle touch. “You suffered a mild heat stroke. The doctor just left.” Anna explains and places the towel, now cooled, back onto her forehead. Talia sighs softly as her heated face begins to cool off. “He says you should rest for a few days and drink plenty of water.” Anna continues and produces a cup of clear water from the bedside table.
