Megha came to her room with a heavy heart. She did not tell her parents. She did not want to make them sad. So she made an excuse to work and came to her room as quickly as possible.
As soon as she came to the room, her eyes fell on the wall in front. Her eyes fell on a big photo of Kiran. In that big photo, only she and Kiran were there.
That photo was taken at the prom Night party. That year, for the first time, Om could not come on time. So, to tease him, Kiran took special care that only his photo should be taken with Megha.
After the party, Kiran made three big copies of that photo. He put one of them in his room, one in Megha's room and the other in Mom's room to forcefully show his defeat.
That is why in that photo, Kiran had a big smile on his lips and a sparkle in his eyes.
Every day Megha used to sleep happily after seeing that photo. She dreams that one day it must be their wedding photo that was banging the same wall.
But today she felt that photo was laughing at her. Because she was the only one who had mistaken that friendship for love.
Megha moved forward to another wall, taking a sad breath. That wall was full of many family photographs.
Every year they used to go out for holidays in summer. Every year a new city and country. Photographs taken on the last day of the holiday were decorated on that wall.
Om made fun of Megha a lot after seeing this wall. He thought I was childish. But Kiran always supports her. Because he knew Megha liked taking photographs.
“It seems I can only be with you in the photos. Will I get a place in your photos after marriage?” Megha asked, looking at Kiran’s photo.
In response, Megha started seeing Shruti’s photo in her mind instead of her face next to Kiran. Megha looked away from the photos sadly.
“I can't see you with her.” Megha murmured.
She turned and took out a silky gown from her wardrobe and entered the bathroom. As soon as she was in the bathtub, many childhood memories became fresh.
There was always a tug-of-war between Om and Kiran regarding Megha. Whenever Megha needed something, both of them gave it to her at the same time. When they were in school, there was a competition between them as to who would make Megha happy today. There was always a different kind of competition that happened daily between them.
For example, if Om would bring a flower for Megha to make her happy, at the same time Kiran would also give her a bouquet made of flowers. Because they knew that Megha loved flowers a lot.
One day, Kiran would make a DIY bracelet for Megha and then Om would make two DIY bracelets.
If Megha wanted ice cream, both of them would race on their bicycles to get the ice cream for Megha. The one whose ice cream reached Megha would be the winner, and the loser would do the other person's homework for the next week.
Sometimes, they would fight for very normal reasons, like her bag and shoes, choosing a dress for her, even picking her up from school, and sometimes dropping Megha home. Playing like this, those three reached high school.
Once, Megha asked both of them why they both kept competing all the time.
“Megha, you are our trophy. As long as you are in our midst, there will always be competition between us for you. You just sit and enjoy this game.” Kiran said laughing at that time.
Om also agreed with Kiran. He also enjoyed trying to defeat his opponents every day. Their childishness made lots of good memories at that time. Slowly they reached university.
When Kiran was fully prepared to go to America for his future study. He had even boarded the plane when Kiran got off the plane after Om sent him a photo.
When Megha asked, Om showed a photo on his phone.
In that photo, Megha was crying with her head on Mom's shoulder. She was sad about Kiran’s departure. But she didn't show her sadness to Kiran at the airport. So when Kiran left she couldn't hold herself and started crying.
But the smart Om took a photo of that moment and sent it to Kiran and wrote a message below that finally, Megha is mine now. I'll take care of her.
That one message made Kiran get off the plane and put Om on the plane instead of himself so that he could pursue further studies abroad. Thus Kiran studied business management in the university with Megha.
Since then Kiran stayed with Megha like her shadow. Later on, Kiran took over her father's business.
As soon as Megha completed her studies, she tried to apply for a job in other companies, but this time Kiran's father put her in Kiran's company.
Megha also started doing that job happily, because she had to stay with Kiran.
After working together for five years, Megha's love was increasing. But Shruti came into Kiran's life as a secretary. And in a year, Shruti won Kiran's heart.
As soon as Megha remembered that moment, she opened her eyes. She realized that now she would have to forget Kiran. Erase all memories of him.
"But will I be able to forget his memories?" Megha asked herself.
'Maybe…' a voice came from her heart.
Taking a deep breath, Megha came out of the bathtub. She wiped her wet body with a towel and came out of the bathroom wearing her gown.
“Finally you came out. I thought you would spend the whole night crying in the bathroom.” Megha was startled by Om's voice.
She saw Om sitting lazily on her bed. He had the same mischievous smile on his face.
“How did you get in?” Megha asked and looked towards the window.
“I came in through the door. I'm not Kiran who comes in through the window instead of the door. You are forgetting, Megha. You gave both Kiran the keys to your room when we were in high school.” Om shows the key in his hand.
“I gave them to Kiran so that he could enter through the door. Not to enter through the window. He once fell from the window. He hurt his head, you know. So I made extra keys and gave it to him. But wait, why do you have that key?” Megha asked in confusion.
“What is the use? My brother never uses that key. He even breaks the lock on your window so he can get inside any time. So I stole it from him. He hasn't even been released yet. Don't tell him, he will beat my ass.” Om wrinkles his eyes playfully.
Megha walks to her dressing table to dry her hair.
“What are you doing here at this time?” Megha asked.
"The reason for this is also my brother. I had to come here because of what happened today." Om said while sitting upright.
"It's good to see that you are here. I also want to talk about your teasing limits." Megha put her hair dryer on the table and turned to him.
"My teasing limits? When I tease anyone?" Om crocks his neck as he asked with a cheerful tone.
