Chapter Four Roxana was working at her carving of the man’s torso when she heard the sound of a horse coming into the courtyard. She did not turn her head because she was certain who her visitor was and a few minutes later the Count came to stand beside her. It was very hot and she was wearing the thinnest of her gowns.
