Ryker didn’t move. His eyes were locked on mine, and I hated the way my chest tightened at the sight of him. He stood there at the cliff’s edge like a shadow carved from moonlight and fury, and I couldn’t breathe. “I told you,” he said again, stepping forward, voice low and rough. “I’m not leaving without you.” “You should,” I snapped, backing away, trying to swallow the tremor in my voice. “You should run far away from me.” “I already tried that,” he said. “Didn’t work.” I turned, heat burning behind my eyes.
