"You don't have to decide right away," he said nervously afraid to keep eye contact.
She gazed up on his face that floated high above her in amazed. She was surprised at the sudden whisper of his question. That was a question that snuck up on her, one that got her frozen in thoughts, one that she wanted to answer right away.
“Why?” she asked. Out of all the questions in her mind she had to ask that one, after all she knew only a little of herself so what exactly caught his eyes that drove him to the edge of asking her out. Was she that inviting, that friendly, that approachable? She wanted to know his motive, she wanted to know what grabbed his attention, what thing or part of her got him needing more of her.
He shyly turned his head and replied, "Because I like you."
"Dr. Adam's, what's your full name?" she asked as she looked down at his ID with an intriguing look.
This Siana was even better than the previous one she lost her ability to hesitate and shy away. The Siana that stood there was confident and straight up, she was perfect, everything the old Siana would want. He quickly spun his head around as he asked himself why would she want to know his full name. "It’s Ethan Adam's he responded gazing at her neat eyebrows still scared to keep eyes contact.
She smiled, "nice meeting you Ethan," she said without stretched arm to his phone. Everything around him froze as he laid his eyes up on her beautiful smile. Her smile was like sweats to his taste, pure beauty to his eyes that traveled down to his chest pulling a heart string. He reached out his hand and handed her the phone. He watched her smile got brighter. He gazed up on her beautiful little face mixed with the morning sun in awe.
"Siana are you ready to go?" Mrs. Jones asked. Siana handed Ethan the phone with a smile and a flirty good by which was responded by his shy smile.
"He seems like a nice guy," Mrs. Jones whispered as the gripped the steering while firmly and gazed up on the road ahead.
Siana smiled. The little conversation she had with Ethan while awaiting her results felt good, she felt comfortable around him. She gripped the paper bag with medication that sat comfortably her lap. The wind blew her straight black hair back and forward wildly as the shadows of the trees that passed by blocked her beautiful hazel eyes that squinted at each hair strand that blew in her eyes.
Mrs. Jones pulled up in front of her house and looked over at Siana's sleeping body. She felt extreme guilt and pain. She was the reason why her daughter was like that, Sleeping on the seat of her car with an almost death injury and memory loss due to extreme stress. A tear drop rolled down her cheek. She whipped away the tear from her cheek and made a quiet sniffle.
"Siana," she whispered as she brushed back her hair. Siana slowly opened her eyes and took a loud inhale. She leaned on Mrs. Jones as she made small simple steps up to her front door. Mrs. Jones opened the door and sat Siana's tired body down on the bed.
Everything was just as she had left it before. Her room was dusty and untouched as if not even the wind itself had entered. Her eyes wondered the room until her heavy eyelids slid down and darkened her vision. She listened as her mother brought in her stuff and closed the door. Soon everything disappeared and she was drifting off into sleep relaxing her body that felt like it had been through a heavy trauma.
Siana woke up four hours later numbed by pain, she couldn't move, at every breath she took she was lined her. She slightly parted her lips and shouted, "Mom!"
That one shout out caused a great level of pain that had her tossing and turning in her mind. Mrs. Jones came bursting through the door wearing an even Mitt and a light pink apron. She tossed the Mitt on the bedside table and knelt at Siana's bedside. "Are you okay?" She asked in a panic as she played her hand on her forehead. "The pain killers must have worn out, you have a fever." She whispered.
Siana's eyes weakly wondered to a soiled area on her mother’s clothing as her paralyzed body. From the stain she was sure that she was cooking, a loud roar came from her stomach as she thought of what her mother was making.
Mrs. Jones rose to her feet and grabbed the oven mitts. "I'll go grab something for you to eat and get you some medicine." She said as she exited the room.
The level of the pain was increasing rapidly. She needed something to soothe the pain. Mrs. Jones entered with a tray. She placed it on the bedside table and carefully leaned her up. She placed the tray before her and gave her spoon filled after spoon filled of rice. At each spoon of rice she rejected Mrs. Jones sighed heavily. She placed the pill on her tongue and placed the glass of water to her mouth allowing her to take small sips. It was as if Siana had become a baby once more, in need of help twenty four seven.
After finish eating she curled up in bed with her mom as the TV played and the pain died down. A loud ping echoed. She spun her head to her mom's sleeping body. She stretched out her hand to the bedside table and grabbed the phone. She turned it on and the light brightened up the dark room. Countless messages popped up on the screen, from some names she couldn't recognized no matter how hard she tried to jog her memory. Her eyes slipped through the names, Kathy, Christopher, Lisa, Anna, Brian, Annie, dad, Aden then her eyes paused on a particular name that she had seen before, a name that caught her attention.
"Who's Alexander?" She asked after seeing his message. Why was he so disrespectful? What did he meant?
