Decisions decisions…

When I arrived at the cafe I went to the counter to order myself a hot chocolate and then went to sit down at our usual table. The waiter brought my drink over, I thanked him and began to sip it. While I waited for Clara to arrive I was daydreaming out the window when I noticed Liam Hitchings walking past, he must have seen me looking because he turned to smile as he walked by before looking straight ahead again. I wondered what he was doing around here as I had only ever seen him around town. He knew some of the same people I did and we had spoken a few times before in the pub since he knew Will from school but we didn’t know each other well. Looking at him now in the daylight he was even better looking than when I had seen him in the pub, he had dark hair which was freshly cut and the top was all tousled, he had a prominent jawline with just the right amount of stubble on his face and beautiful greeny brown eyes. His smile sent a pleasant little shiver down my spine, as he carried on walking I felt myself still staring at his godlike frame walking down the street. Just at that moment Clara walked in, she had a cheeky smile on her face and I knew she had just caught me looking at Liam. “Well ,well, well…checking Liam Hitchings out are we? What happened to Will?” She said with a look of distaste on her face as she said Will’s name. “I told him I wanted to take a break…” Clara looked at me speechless for just a second before beaming and high-fiving me across the table, “Thank god for that! I never liked him even before he cheated on you, you can do so much better! So is this just a break or is this the official break up?” I thought for a second before saying “I had told him I just wanted a break for a month, no calling, texting or seeing each other and then we will decide where to go from there but the more I think about it the more I’m realising that I’m actually relieved to not have to deal with him anymore so I think this may be a permanent thing…” “Well if you’re thinking like that already and it hasn’t even been a day yet then I think you know what the answer you’re looking for is girl, so are we going out tonight since you’re officially free to do what you want?” Clara wiggled her eyebrows at me and flashed me her usual playful smile. “Well I suppose it is Saturday, we could go out but only for a few drinks!” I said rolling my eyes at her as she began to dance around in her seat. We had lunch and chatted some more before deciding to go home and get ready for the night. Clara said she would pick me up in a taxi at 8 so I had plenty of time to walk the dog for mum and get ready slowly as it was only 3:30pm. I took the dog on a long walk and didn’t arrive home again until 5pm. I decided that I was going to text Will and tell him that I had decided we should end things for good, I felt bad but I had to do what was best for me. I hadn’t felt myself since everything happened and the relief I had felt after telling him I needed a break had convinced me that it was just dragging me down by staying with him. I started to think about it and I realised that this had been going on for a long time, I had been cringing whenever he touched me since before I can remember and all we had done was argue so this was definitely for the best. Will responded simply saying, “Okay Lil if that’s what you want, I’ll always be here for you though, I wish you all the best xx” I was glad he had taken it well, I don’t know what I would’ve done if he had tried to cause an argument about it. I pushed all thoughts of Will to the back of my mind as I started to get ready, I brushed my long black hair and straightened it all before doing my makeup and finally picking out an outfit. Why was it always so hard to find something good to wear? I ended up choosing a slinky white dress with silver diamanté straps, the silky fabric hung perfectly around my curves and showed just the right amount of cleavage. The dress was short, but not too short so it showed off my legs nicely. I paired it with some silver strappy heels and a silver clutch bag. Just as I was checking myself out in the mirror I heard a beep coming from outside. That must be Clara in the taxi, I grabbed my keys, phone and bank card and put them in my clutch before heading out the door. As soon as I got in the taxi Clara handed me a drink. “I stopped at the shop on the way here to get us both a drink, I figured you’d need it tonight since it’s your first night out as a free woman…well kind of” She said as she giggled at me for rolling my eyes at her. “Yeah about that…” her eyes glistened as she waited eagerly for what I was about to say next. “I texted Will and told him that I think we should end things for good” I went to take a sip of my drink and almost spilled it everywhere as she threw her arms around me shouting “YES! I was hoping you’d finish things, I have something to confess since you are actually a single woman now…” I looked at her with furrowed brows, confused as to what she could possibly have to tell me. “Liam Hitchings texted me earlier asking if you were single and I might have told him you were and he said he’s going to be out tonight too…” I gave her a playful punch on the arm and rolled my eyes at her, saying “why would you tell him that when you didn’t even know if I would fully break up with Will?” “Because I saw you staring at him earlier and when I spoke to you in the cafe I knew that it was going to be over between you and Will from the way you were so relieved about not having to speak to him” she answered with a mischievous look in her eye. I just laughed at her and shook my head before drinking the rest of my drink. When we arrived at the pub Clara told me to go get us a table while she got us drinks, I managed to find a table right next to the dance floor which I knew she would love. As I waited for Clara to come back with the drinks I could feel someone looking at me, I turned to see who it was and none other than Liam was walking towards me, a sexy smile spread across his face as he saw me turn to look. I had a feeling Clara had something to do with this since she was taking so long to come back with our drinks.
