Chapter 5

610 Words
After a crazy weekend, Carter was back to school. She followed her regular schedule. Getting off the bus and meeting Tristah at her locker then grabbing breakfast. This time Carter offered to buy food and Tristah insisted on buying it, it was the least she could do for Carter putting up with her. They both laugh and get cholette muffins. Carter practically was inhaling her muffin. She has had to cut off buying food for herself to be able to take care of the bills and medison. Unlike Tristah who was just barely nibbling on her’s. Carter looked over her shoulder to once again see that Tristah was staring at her brother. Rolling her eyes, Carter wonders if Tristah would feel differently torts Tyson if she would have known. Luckily they looked nothing like each other. Carter had red and mute green eyes, and Tyson had dark brown hair and brown eyes with freckles. Even if Carter would have told Tristah, she would’ve never have believed her. Carter continued devouring her muffin and then felt someone tapping her shoulder. She turned to see Karman. Carter feels her face turn red and quickly whip her face with a napkin. Triatah laughs which received a glare from Carter. “Thanks for getting coffee with me, I enjoyed spending more time with you.” Carter, still trying to swallow her food, Tristah responded for her,”You're not going to steal her from me!!!” Carter’s face became red and glared even more harshly towards her. Karman blushed a little and gave a nervous laugh as if he was caught red-handed for stealing,”I would never. I think it’s neat that you two have a wonderful friendship.” Tristah crossed her arms, as to make herself more intimidating,”Good, because you’d need to ask me first. You got it!” Laughing once again, Karman played along,”I certainly will.” Once Karman walked away, Carter looked at Tristah with fire in her eyes,”You’ll thank me later,”Tristah said. “O, believe me. I’ll find a way to pay you back, Trish.” After school Carter got a call from the school reminding her off lunch accounts and grades and attendance from both her and Tyson. The results didn’t really surprise her. Tyson had skipped morning class twice. Taking in perspective from other years, Carter suspected that he would skip at least one more day within the next 2 weeks.  The call also reminded her of the coming  up holiday, Darwin’s day. She transfords money for both Tyson and her and then went to take a nap for a few hours. Shutting her eyes she felt a comness fill her. Leaving behind the terrors of survival in this space can. Soon her dreams were overwhelmed with her many anxieties. She recalled her life before. Seeing how death and an illness is just drowning her. Playing tug-a-war with her whole future. Recalling what the shopkeep had told her. Was it right for her to pull her mother through an illness that was going to kill her sooner or later. It was proven, even if they are able to get through the c****x of the illness. The sickness taints the blood. As the victim becomes older they could be totally fine, then fall back into the hashes part of the disease following a quick death. Ending her mother’s suffering would feel be murder though. It would be blood on her hands, but what she is doing now...is it any better?
