Chapter 100

“Why did we stop so sudden?” I asked him.

“This spot is good!” He replied.

“What do you mean it’s good?” I asked him again.

“We’ll be staying in here for a while. This place is perfect to build a camp.” He replied.

“How did you know that? You’ve never been here your entire life! You only saw this place by now, how come you could tell that it was perfect to build a camp?” I asked him.

“Do you trust me?’ He asked back while smiling.

“Oh…. Yeah I do.” I replied.

“Then if that was the case, wake your comrades already! Tell them that we’ll be staying here temporarily while we are still settling some things up.” He said.

“Alright sir, I am on it!” I replied.

I did not waste any time and I started waking up my comrades just like what Major Rune told me.

“Hey guys wake up already!” I said to my comrades.

“Wait, is it my turn already? I thought I would be the last to take the turn?” Lee Jun asked.

“No Lieutenant, there would be no more turns for now! For the meantime, we will build our camp here and we will be staying here while we are settling some things out! It is quite safe in this place rather than staying inside this car! Wake up already! I need you guys to help me to start building our camp!” The Major said.

“Alright, I am on my way sir! Just give me 5 minutes!” Lee Jun replied.

It didn’t took me long enough to wake Jin and Paulo up, because they get up immediately upon feeling that I was waking them up already.

Lee Jun was the only one who asked for few more minutes among my comrades, but we still respect him anyway.

Maybe he was just so tired or something.

Major Rune was the first one to get out of our vehicle.

Then, my two other comrades followed him immediately.

I was left inside for a while to be a look out.

Few seconds have passed, and Jin went back to the vehicle.

“Hey there bud, we have already found a safe place where we can build a camp! Come on! The place is already waiting for us!” Jinhao said.

“Alright buddy!” I replied.

So I went out of the vehicle upon hearing what Jinhao said.

Few more minutes have passed, and Lee Jun was already awakened too.

“Hey bud, where did they go?” Lee Jun asked.

“Well, they were already there! They said that they were already able to find a safe place where we can build our camp! They told me to follow them whenever you are awake already! So uh, I guess we should start moving now!” I replied.

“Oh sure pal!” Lee Jun said.

We didn’t waste any time and we started to take everything inside the vehicle.

Lee Jun took the former President at his back all by himself.

I took care of the remaining few things inside the car since the heavy ones were already taken to the camp by my comrades and by Major Rune as well.

“Are you sure that you can handle all that all by yourself, pal? My other hand was still free so I would still be able to carry some stuff here! So uh, please do not hesitate to tell me whenever you need help, alright?” Lee Jun said.

“Thanks pat but don’t worry, I can handle these remaining stuffs all by myself since I have already taken enough rest earlier.” I replied.

“Alright, just tell me whenever you are already tired carrying all of those, okay? Let’s go!” Lee Jun said.

“Alright let us go now!” I replied.

We started walking to the trail where the camp is located.

We were able to follow the trail since we were able to saw some marks our team has left in order for us to see where they are heading easily.

We just followed ever y mark together carefully.

While we are on the way, I can feel that Lee Jun was somehow on his right mind already. So I decided to talk to him regarding what happened earlier.

I know that you are all aware about the earlier incident, wherein Lee Jun and Paulo had a misunderstanding and they haven’t fixed everything yet during the whole trip. So I decided to open up that matter since it was just me and him right now.

“Hey Lee, would you mind if I ask you something?” I asked him.

“Yeah, what is it pal?” He asked back.

“Well, please do not be mad alright?” I said.

“Yeah, I promise!” He replied.

“Well, I suggest that you and Paulo should settle everything right already! You are both my friends and I am not being biased on this thing alright? But what you did back there earlier was wrong! You shouldn’t say all of those words earlier! I am sorry to say this Lee, but you are really wrong buddy!” I said.

Then, he became quiet for a while as he continued walking.

“Hey Lee, are you listening to me?” I asked him.

“Yeah, I am listening pal!” He replied.

“You two should talk about it immediately, alright? We are friends! You shouldn’t let a little misunderstanding like that to ruin everything between us! I am not being biased, alright? I am just telling you the truth! I wouldn’t be doing this thing if you didn’t do anything wrong, alright? You know me through the years pal! I am always frank and I always tell you guys nothing but the truth!” I said.

“Yeah, I do understand pal!” He replied.

“Then, promise me that you would settle things as soon as possible, alright? Promise me that you would apologize to him later and to everyone who saw the whole thing, alright? Please promise me that thing pal!” I said.

Then, he sighs deeply while walking.

“Lee, I am talking to you!” I said.

“Alright, I promise!” He replied and he sighs deeply after.

“Thank you pal!” I said.

We continued walking for few more minutes and we finally managed to reach the place where Major Rune decided to build a camp.

We also saw Jin along the way while we are walking to the camp.

“Oh hey there buddies! You finally made it here!” Jinhao said.

“Yeah! Finally!” I replied.

When we got there, they merely began setting things up.

Some of the things were already placed to their designated places while the others remained untouched inside our backpacks.

So, we helped them immediately upon seeing that they were already working.

Few more moments have passed, and we finally managed to set up our camp.

It was already 5:30 in the morning.

The President was still unconscious. It looks like that drug was really hard to the point that he wasn’t still awake until now.

There is still no presence of the sun.

There’s no indication either that it would show up today.

The sky was still dark and it’s still getting cold outside. I do not know what is happening, but it looks like there is an upcoming storm today.

“Hey there, brace yourselves already, alright? It looks like we are about to face a storm today! It looks like the outside world was welcoming us!” The Major said while laughing.

“Yeah, we are lucky that we are able to pack our rain coats inside our backpacks.” I said.

We gathered around the bonfire so we can still keep ourselves warm.

“How’s my uncle? Can somebody give me an update regarding his condition? I haven’t seen him since we already got there. How is he, fellas?” The Major asked.

“Well, he is still unconscious sir. He was still sleeping tight right there! That thing must have been really strong to put your uncle in this kind of condition!” I replied.

“Yeah, that thing was pretty strong just like what my friend told me! Now I know that he wasn’t kidding when he said that that thing was really strong! I guess he would be back later on, but for now let us just let him take his nap. Who knows what could happen when he woke up? There is a possibility that he would be a problem whenever he woke up, so I suggest that we let him be that way for now!” The Major said while laughing.

Since there is nothing we can do, we just decided to tell stories as usual.

I do not know why, but I am really enjoying whenever Major Rune was telling stories about his life to us.

I can tell that my comrades really like it too!

So I decided to ask him to tell us more stories about him. Fortunately, he didn’t decline to what I am asking.

“How come you were so good at spotting a good place to build a camp, Major Rune?” I asked him.

“Well, just like what I have said earlier during our trip; I undergo several trainings during my younger years even though I am still not a cadet. Uncle used to send me to different trainings. He really wanted me to become a good soldier, because he doesn’t want to see other people getting rid of me. I keep on questioning that decision of his when I was a kid, but now I am starting to realize that he did all of those things for my own sake. Now I realize that all of those things were really useful especially for such situations like this in my life! That is why I had a little guilt inside my heart whenever I am in such situation that requires me the skills that I have learned from my training!” He replied while laughing.

“That’s alright sir, at least you have learned from your mistakes!” Jinhao said.

“Can you teach us some of the basics on how we can tell if the place was good for building a camp sir? I mean, I do attend our trainings but, it would be best if I do ask a real veteran like you!” Paulo said while laughing.

“Oh sure, I have no problem with that! I will teach you guys what I know!” The Major replied while smiling.

Then, the talking continues as everyone gets interested about knowing Major Rune’s knowledge.

It feels like we are not on a mission, since you can see smile in everyone’s face.

Then, few moments more have passed and it finally started to rain.

We started grabbing our rain gears from our backpacks and wear it immediately.

Then, Major Rune remembered something.

“Oh hey, please excuse me for a moment as I need to check our vehicle! This rain wasn’t good for our stealth mode!” He said.

Then, I realized that it was a good time for Lee and Paulo to settle their things, so I told them that I would join the Major.

Then, Jin volunteered himself to check the perimeter. It looks like he realized what I wanted.

I stared at Lee Jun and made him realize what I want, and it looks like he realizes it too.

So we didn’t waste any time and we started moving away from the camp to check our vehicle…
