Chapter 7

Several minutes passed, I can feel my body but I am not aware of what’s happening with my surroundings.

I suddenly woke up in the middle of nowhere.

I do not know where I am, my eyes were open but I could not see anything because it was too dark.

I started to search and feel my surroundings. It was a narrow place with rough edges. It’s like the feeling of being surrounded by huge boulders of rock.

I can still manage to breathe, but I know that I should find a way to escape because if I stay here, I would die because of suffocation.

The place was too narrow, but I manage to move even little by little.

After moving few meters from my previous position, I saw a light source few meters away from my current position.

I didn’t waste any time, I started moving recklessly to reach the light source as soon as possible. On my way, I hit a sharp edge that cut me in my arm. It’s probably a sharp stone edge I can tell. I can tell my arm was bleeding already, because I can feel my blood running through my arms.

I disregard the pain and continue my way up. As I approach the light source, my surroundings get visible little by little. I can now barely see the things around me and the place where I was.

Upon reaching the light source, I was able to realize that it was an exit.

I didn’t waste any second and I run through it.

Upon entering it, the feelings of my foot suddenly changed. I was able to feel the warm feeling of stepping in to the sand.

I kneel down and grab some of it, and it was real. It was real red sand. I felt weird; I am wondering why my heels aren’t hurting. From the least I remembered, my heels were wounded and they were also badly bleeding. I am also running all around the field from what I have remembered, and it is really weird to find myself in the middle of the bay.

I am not in Galaxias anymore I can tell, because this place feels real. This is pure red sand from the nature and it’s not like that sand from Galaxias.

I searched the place even if I felt weird about it. There were also trees nearby on the other part of the bay. The water in the sea looks crystal clear and the sky is blue like there is no pollution at all.

In simple words, it’s like heaven. This was the appearance of the Earth many years ago.

I still do not know where I am, I do not know how I got here either. All I know is I need to find my way back to Galaxias to finish my task.

I started searching the area again in order to find a way back to Galaxias.

I got hungry on my way, I decided to pick coconuts from the trees so I can eat and drink.

I sat under the shade of coconut trees to take my break.

I felt a sudden pain in my arms and saw blood coming from it. It was my cut, now I remember that I got wounded while making my way up here. I washed my wounded arm with salt water, and I admit that it really hurts.

I covered my arm with a cloth coming from my clothes. I put a little bit of pressure on it, so it won’t bleed anymore.

I came back under the shed of the trees to finish my food. While taking my break, I still can’t imagine how I got here.

“Maybe this is some kind of test again for me” I said to myself.

“Or maybe I failed the task and they already kicked me out of Galaxias? But it can’t be! A former cadet should have undergone through legal processes before leaving the Galaxias. Is it possible that they kicked me out without undergoing those procedures?” I asked myself seriously.

“I should hurry up and go back to Galaxias now!” I added.

I ate many foods as much as I can. After finishing my food, I decided to rest a little before I begin my search for the way back to Galaxias.

Minutes passed and I began searching all over the place again. I’ve tried reaching out for other people’s help too, but it seems like I am the only one in this area.

I’ve walked each and every direction in this island. I’ve already searched the North, the East, the West, and the South, but all of them were empty.

I’ve tried searching them again and again just to make sure that I didn’t miss a single spot, but just like the earlier expedition, I found nothing. I slowly began to lose my hope, seems like this island was a whole maze and looks like I am stuck here forever.

This is my 15th time searching every area in this island, and still I wasn’t able to find any hints on how to get back to Galaxias.

I decided to stop for that day, because I am already tired and it feels like my body should take a rest already. I decided to go back to the trees where I take my break earlier to build my camp where I can take my short nap.

On my way back to the trees, I saw another person fishing on the shore.

“Hey!” I shouted with joy.

Finally, I found another person in this island. Now, I am not alone. I ran towards that person as fast as I could.

“Why are you such in a hurry, young woman?” said the stranger while laughing.

“Oh thank God I found you! I’m happy to know that I am not alone all this time! Where have you been? I’ve been looking for someone in this island since I got here.” I asked while catching my breath.

“What are you talking about? I’ve been here the whole time” the stranger answered while chuckling.

“But it is impossible! I’ve been searching every area on this island back and forth, how come I wasn’t able to find you?” I seriously asked.

The stranger chuckles and didn’t say a word. The stranger pulled the rod from the sea with a fish attached on the string of the rod.

“Whoa! How could you do that?” I asked.

“Do what?” the stranger replied.

“That! I’ve been waiting for so long to see a live wild fish from the water, how could you do that? You should come with me to Galaxias! I’m sure your knowledge can be really useful for us there!” I said.

“Galaxias? What is that? A food?” asked the stranger.

“You’ve never heard of Galaxias? Well it’s a place built to give the needs of those who live inside it. I was from there!” I answered.

“You said you’ve never see a live wild fish in the water don’t you? I thought this place called ‘Galaxias’ could provide everything you need? Haha” said the stranger.

“Uh well…. You should still come with me when I came back!”  I insisted.

“You see young blood; this island gives me what I need. Why would I leave when I already have everything I needed here?” the stranger said while chuckling.

“Wait; did you just call me young blood?” I asked.

The stranger’s face wasn’t revealed because he was covering it with a cloth, but as I approach near her I noticed that her skin was wrinkled already and her hair was white and long. So, I came up with the conclusion that she was an old lady.

“What did you just said? I’m sorry I wasn’t able to hear it properly because I am having trouble hearing things sometimes.” She asked.

“Uhh… Nothing, Just don’t mind me” I replied.

“Old lady? Do you mind if I invite you to stay with me in my camp tonight?” I asked her.

“I already have my camp, but since you are a nice kid, then I am coming with you.” She replied.

I carried the basket of fresh fishes towards my camp with the old lady. We set fire for us to be able to cook those fishes.

While cooking, I told her different stories of mine while I was in the Galaxias.

She was listening to every story I’m telling her. The way she looked at me reminds me of someone from my past, but still I wasn’t able to see her face because she isn’t removing the cloth that covers her face.

After cooking the fishes, I started eating because I am really hungry. The old woman laughs upon seeing me eat like there’s no tomorrow.

“You must be pretty hungry, yeah? said the old woman while laughing.

“Yeah, I’m sorry. Don’t you want to eat?” I asked.

“No, I’m not hungry. You can finish all of those for you to be able to regain your strength!” she replied.

Upon hearing those words, I didn’t hold back anymore. I started eating twice as much as I can.

“So, how did you find this place young blood?” she asked me.

“Uhm, I still do not know how. All I know is I am running all over the field of Galaxias and suddenly I woke up here. Maybe it’s another test for me made by major Rune or maybe they decided to kick me out of Galaxias that is why I am here.” I replied.

“It is impossible, others don’t the location of this place.” She said.

“If nobody knows the location of this place, then how am I able to get here?” I asked.

The old woman started to laugh and said, “it’s for you to find out, young blood.”

To be honest, this old woman was too deep to understand. You can tell that her knowledge is quite deeper than mine. Somehow she is also mysterious. I am really wondering how I and she gets here in this island.

“Hey, old woman!”

“Yes?”

“Do you know a way to get out of here?” I asked.

“Why are you in such hurry young blood?”

“Because I need to get back to Galaxias, I do not want my friends to worry about me. So please, if you know a way out of here please tell me!” I replied.

The old woman stared at me and said “sometimes we tend to rush things in order to finish them, but the best way to finish something is through getting a perfect timing for it.”

“What does that mean old woman? Some kind of riddle or something?” I asked seriously.

She laughed hardly and said “it means you should go to sleep and take your rest now!”

“But!”

“Go on, do it as I say, young blood!” she said.

I lie down and started to try napping, and out of nowhere she said;

“An unknown answer doesn’t need to be searched every time, sometimes you just have to wait for answers to knock on your door.”

“Thanks, old woman!”  I replied.

I closed my eyes and purified my mind. When I open my eyes again, I was all alone again. The old woman wasn’t beside me anymore.

I said to myself that maybe she just go for a walk or something, that is why I chose to continue my nap.

I closed my eyes again, and I told myself that I should sleep.

Out of nowhere, I heard the voices of my colleagues speaking.
