I jumped almost to the ceiling as I was shocked.

Then, Major Rune laughed and looked behind me.

When I turned around, it was the President wearing his robe while brewing his coffee.

It looks like he just woke up for about few minutes ago.

“Oh hey uncle, what’s up?” The Major said.

“Hey there Rune, I didn’t expect you to come this early. And who was this beautiful cadet you’ve bring me? Is she your girlfriend?” The President asked while laughing.

“Uh no uncle, she was this year’s valedictorian.” The Major said.

“Oh, I don’t know that a valedictorian can jump a lot almost to the ceiling!” The President replied while chuckling.

“Of course uncle, you are pretty scary you know that! If I were not your nephew, maybe I was able to blast your head off with a gun just because you always try to scare your visitors and make them jump at their best!” The Major said while laughing.

“Good morning sir, I am 2nd Lieutenant Genesis Asha Wade; the valedictorian of my class. Please forgive me about what you’ve just saw, I was just carried by my emotions, sir. Anyway, that wasn’t my point sir. I came here because I would like to take the position that you are offering me.” I said.

“Oh is that it? Then, please forgive me. So finally, I am talking with Ms. Wade; the mighty Ms. Wade. My name is Erik Harald, I was Rune’s uncle. I came to your graduation yesterday, but I did not notice your face properly that is why I wasn’t able to recognize you immediately. Before anything else, I would like you to know that I am really impressed by your performance. Your name was marching in every place of Galaxias. They say you are the mighty Ms. Wade, but I didn’t know that the mighty Ms. Wade was also a scaredy cat!” The President said while laughing.

“Oh please forgive me, I was just kidding right there!” The President added.

“Nah, it’s alright sir. Perhaps, what you’ve heard was just rumors. I mean, they just made up that name.” I replied.

“Well what we have here? I do not know that the valedictorian was also humble, Rune!” The President said.

“Yes sir, she is!” The Major replied.

“Well, uh I guess I was just stating the fact sir.” I replied while chuckling.

“Well, if you are not good, then you won’t be in that place! The only reason why you became their valedictorian is because you’ve surpassed all of them! And that’s what I need here, that is the reason why I build this place; to raise such cadets like you! And now, I want you to know; that I am already proud of you!” The President said.

“Well, we came here today uncle because she’s here to take the position that you are offering her.” Major Rune said immediately.

“Whoa is that it? Oh sure! Have a seat please! Please forgive me if I lost my manners somehow for a second! I didn’t even offer the two of you to have a seat inside my office!” The President said while laughing and walking back to his seat with his coffee.

“Please forgive me for having such a messy office! I’ve got a lot of works to do last night, which is why I was able to sleep tight; to the point that I didn’t wake up early today to clean my office!” The President added while laughing and kicking some papers on the floor.

“I see you’ve had a huge work load, right uncle?” Major Rune asked.

“Yeah, that was f*****g right! Well just help me here instead you were just standing right there and watching me! Come on! I didn’t raise you like an i***t! My visitor is also watching right there!” The President said.

“Well, okay then uncle! I am sorry!” Major Rune replied while laughing.

“Would you like me to help you, sir?’ I asked them.

“No, just stay right there Ms. Wade! These gentlemen in front of you already got this! Besides, you are still my visitor and it wasn’t your responsibility to clean this! Just hold on a minute right there Ms. Wade! It won’t take us long! Find yourself a seat anywhere and just feel at home!” The President said while laughing.

“Thank you sir.” I replied.

The President Erik Harald, together with his nephew Major Rune Harald started fixing everything inside the President’s office and I was just sitting next to them; watching.

Few minutes passed, and they were finally able to finish fixing the whole office of the President.

“Well now it looks like a real President’s office, uncle!” The Major said.

“Well yeah, this was my real office! Now what can you say about my office, Ms. Wade?” The President asked me while smiling.

“Well, it looks good sir!” I replied while smiling.

“Thank you for that! Well I am really happy that my office was somehow back to normal! But I guess it would only last for few hours until it turns messy again! I love how it looks right now! But the only thing I hated is that my coffee was already getting cold!” He said while laughing.

 “Hey Ms. Wade, do you mind if I continue wearing this robe of mine while I am talking to you?” The President asked.

“Well to be honest, it won’t be a problem with me sir. The only thing that matters to me is that I can finally talk with you personally!” I said.

“Well that’s the spirit! Thank you for the kind consideration Ms. Wade! I just didn’t expect that my nephew was serious about coming here so early!” The President replied.

“Well then, take a seat already Rune!” The President added.

Major Rune takes his seat beside me and President Erik went to the dispenser to get some hot water for his coffee.

“I am sorry for the holdup Ms. Wade.” The President said immediately upon taking his seat.

“It was just fine sir, I understand that you had a lot of things to do!” I replied.

“So uh, what do you guys want for breakfast?” The President asked.

“Oh, we’ve already took our breakfast earlier uncle! Since it seems like that no one was here earlier, we decided to head back to the canteen and take our breakfast together! So where did you go this morning, uncle? We already went here earlier. I knocked several times at your door and I even screamed your name many times, but you haven’t answered anything of those. May I know where you came from uncle?” The Major asked his uncle.

“Oh really? Well, I would like to apologize for that inconvenience. I just made that f*****g note out there for me to have more sleep! I mean, you know that I have a lot of things to finish last night, don’t you? That is why I am really tired and I wanted to have much sleep! But as a President, we all know that it wasn’t possible. That is why I made up that note for everyone to think that I am still busy! I am sorry if the two of you were also affected by that note!” The President said.

“It’s alright sir.” I replied.

“Well, shall we talk straight to the business, ey?” The President asked me.

“Well, like what I have said earlier uncle; 2nd Lieutenant Wade has already accepted your offer. She went to see me at my office to tell me that she already accepted your offer. And she asked me to join her as she talk to you this morning.” The Major said.

“Well is that true?” The President asked while smiling.

“Well, yes sir. I have already thought of your offer sir, and I would be honored to serve you and this world by leading the future expedition team of Galaxias as we conquer the outer space.” I replied.

“That was the spirit Lieutenant Wade! I want you to know that I am happy to hear all of that! However, the position that you are applying for was already closed.” The President said.

“Wait what? What do you mean it’s already closed uncle?” Major Rune asked.

“Well, I have already thought of it and I thought that it would be better if I am not going to put my full attention towards it.” The President replied.

“But why uncle? You made a deal with the former President of the high table! Have you already forgotten that? You could lose your position uncle! You built this place uncle! You built this place with your own hands! You can’t just lose this now and your position as well! We are already near to the rehabilitation that we wanted uncle! Our researchers have already found a planet where we can start all over again! Don’t tell me that you’ve already gave up on that thing uncle!” The Major said seriously to his uncle.

The President laughed upon hearing Major Rune’s statement.

“Have you already lost your mind uncle? Please do not do this thing now! We are almost there! We are almost at the peak of our plans! Isn’t that what we wanted from the beginning?” The Major asked.

“Yes, it was.” The President said.

“Then why are you doing this?” The Major asked him.

“Because this was the best thing to do!” The President replied.

“I still don’t understand you uncle! We are almost there! Why are you already giving up?” The Major asked.

“I just want you to trust me, son. One day, you will realize that I did all of this s**t for you!” The President replied.

The Major became quiet as he doesn’t want the President’s argument.

“Well, I guess it would be rude if I would let the two of you came here without having any reward when you leave!” The President chuckled.

“Well, can you please tell me the words that I said during your graduation Ms. Wade? The President asked.

“Uh…” I said.

“Come on, I am waiting! I wouldn’t be mad at you whenever your answers were wrong!” The Major chuckled again.

“Well, I can remember that you’ve told me that you are willing to offer me a position for that expedition team sir! I can also remember that you’ve told me that whenever I do not accept that position, there is still another option for me.” I replied.

“Well, that was right! Now I know that you really had a photographic memory just like what they say!” The President said.

“Not really sir, I guess it just happens that it was still fresh from my mind since it was just yesterday sir.” I replied.

“Well, since the position for the team leader of the Galaxias expedition team was already unavailable, I would like to offer you the position to be my secretary. I may not promise you that it would be an easy job, because like what you have seen earlier; I am a very busy person; which means that whenever you became my secretary you would be busy like me as well.” The President said.

“I know that it wasn’t the job that you were expecting when you came here, but I guess it would be better if that was the only job that I am going to offer to you. So what do you think Ms. Wade?” The President chuckled as he asked.
