I was a bit stunned as I heard Miko just utter his first word. What’s more stunning is that he said it to me and he called me mommy. I picked him up and rushed out of the bedroom while screaming “He talked! He talked!”
They were all sitting around the dining table looking at me in wonder as I came rushing in.
Marco: “What happened? Why are you screaming?”
Krista: “He talked. Miko talked. He said mommy!”
Marco, Conchita, Mikhail and Mateo all gasped in surprise. Marco stood up and went to us, then hugged us both. He kissed Miko on the cheeks and me on the forehead while saying “Good job, baby.”
I didn’t know if he was talking to me or Miko. At the moment, we were happy. We were interrupted by Conchita talking.
Conchita: “Let’s have lunch, everyone.”
