CHAPTER 15: Surprise

Five days before the UEFA Champions League...

Savannah's last class finally ended at seven p.m. Mia already informed her that she has something to take care of, so she can't accompany her tonight. The university is just a few kilometers from the complex so there's no need for her to take a cab or a bus.

Just as she was out of the building, she recognized a familiar person near a luxurious car waving at her. It is a Matte Black Lamborghini Aventador (*she's oblivious about the car's brand or worth [#please don't hate her]) parked at the side road of the entrance. It was Lorenzo.

"I was waiting for you. What took you so long?", he came near her and out of the blue, he kissed her making her eyes wide in surprise.

"What are you doing?!", she lightly pushed him breaking the kiss.

"What? I'm kissing my girl", he shamelessly said.

Mentioning that she is his made her speechless. She knows that she can't argue about it since he had already claimed her.

"So what are you doing here? How did you even get here?", she changed the subject.

"I wanted to see my girlfriend because she never called at all for nearly a month even though I gave her my number", he sulked acting cute.

"Sorry I totally forgot", she said lowering her eyes.

"Then for compensation! You are going to accompany me to Portugal next week. We're having a football match so I want you to be there and watch me play."

"Football in Portugal?...", she questioned cluelessly. "Oh! I'm so sorry I didn't know you are a football player!", she quickly apologized realizing that she must have offended him.

"No, it's okay... Don't worry about it... I was expecting that", he said mumbling his last words.

"It seems that there are a lot of things I don't know about you...", she said embarrassed for her cluelessness.

He wasn't offended at all but he was more relieved that she doesn't know anything about him. There are a lot of rumors and scandals about him circulating in the society and he really doesn't want to involve her in it.

"I wanted to apologize again!", she said.

"Huh? What for this time?"

"I can't go with you to Portugal. I can't afford to skip classes next week!", she reasoned.

"Oh right! I almost forgot she is a college student", he thought.

Mario did a background check on her. He investigated where she lives, friend/s, favorites, personal information (taken from the university's records), and especially on her past relationships/boyfriends to which Lorenzo mainly wanted to know. He was surprised to find that she is virtuous in her studies, never had a boyfriend (confirmed by Mia) and what's more shocking to his discovery is that her tracks when she was a baby, her childhood and high school are completely blank, it was almost like she's from another planet, though he didn't investigate further in the end because it would take years for him retrace everything.

"I'm really very sorry!", she apologized for the third time.

"If you're really sorry, hop in the car", he said gesturing for her to get in. "We're going somewhere."

Savannah followed him without any protest. Throughout the drive, even if she is silent Lorenzo could tell that she's anxious because she doesn't have any idea where they are going. Lorenzo didn't say anything for he wanted to surprise her. He stepped on the gas and speeded.

After 45 minutes of the speedy and quiet drive, they finally arrived at their destination. Savannah felt sick after getting out of the flashy car but she composed herself not letting Lorenzo know about her weakness. Even if she hid it, Lorenzo already knew about it but he found it cute of her trying not to burst her bubbles.

Savannah let her eyes explore the place, in front of her was a huge beautiful mansion, the designs and structures are very skeptical and artistic. She can't see the whole view of the mansion but she could tell that it has a simplistic look and at the same time extravagant.

The mansion is surrounded by trees and is pretty much isolated from the city, an hour and thirty minutes to be exact when you travel at normal speed to the place. The place is heavily secured from the inside and outside. Basically, the mansion is 38,000 square feet of living space with 4 floors in total. The whole base of a mansion is a wide tiled parking lot full of luxurious and expensive car collections. The second-floor pictures an infinity pool with a swim-up bar and beach chairs straightly lined up at the poolside which is very visible on the outside, a 40-seat movie theater on the inside, two glamorous and organized kitchens at both ends of the floor, eight bedrooms, and six bathrooms. Going up to the third floor is an aesthetic twirled glass stair. The third floor is composed of a gym room with different training equipments and right next to it is a four-lane bowling alley, there are four bedrooms and bathrooms on the floor, and a kitchen. The top floor is mainly for the helicopter landing and a waiting area of couches is planted. A greenhouse garden is also present nearby the mansion.

Lorenzo led her to the greenhouse, she was totally caught by surprise because of the astonishing species of flowers are on the background view and on the center is a table with delicious food and wine which is delicately prepared for two people. Lorenzo's surprise is none other than a romantic date with the alluring girl in front of him.

Note: Lorenzo is extremely a novice when it comes to dating.

The romantic date wasn't Lorenzo's idea at all. It was suggested by his teammates. His teammates trained him in proper manners when it comes to dates while Mario was the one who exerted effort and carefully prepared the setting, food choices, flowers, and the atmosphere of the date. Things like this are not part of his job but he helped because it is the first time Lorenzo is smitten to a girl. [^Thanks Mario and the Blue Panthers members^]
