“What did you just say?”
The words barely left my mouth before rage took over. I hurled my cellphone at the wall. It shattered on impact, the sharp crack echoing through the room.
Divine.
She was the reason Avannah was lying there, weak and confused.
She pushed her.
I shut my eyes tightly, my chest rising and falling with uneven breaths. I still couldn’t process it. How could she do something so vicious? What had Avannah ever done to deserve being shoved off that massive rock?
“You’re a monster, Divine…” I muttered through clenched teeth, my fists curling until my knuckles turned white.
The image of Avannah flashed in my mind—her pale face, her fragile state, the way she held her head in pain. And worst of all… the way she looked at me without recognition.
