"Avannah… can I ask you something?" Divine said after Raider left.
He had said he needed to step out briefly but would return soon, leaving just Divine and me in the office. I glanced at her. She was older than me, yet somehow dressed much younger. Still, she was single—no family, no boyfriend.
"What is it?" I asked politely.
