Avannah's POV
It had been seven days since Raider last came to see me.
Seven days—and even Divine hadn’t seen him. She didn’t know where he was either. That fact alone made my chest tighten. Where could Raider be?
A horrible thought slipped into my mind.
What if he was at another woman’s place?
“Avannah,” Lorenzo said when he noticed me staring blankly at my desk. “Has Raider still not come?”
I nodded, my heart heavy. “No. He hasn’t. It’s been seven days already. He really meant what he said in his message.”
Lorenzo gently patted my shoulder. “Just let it be for now. Calm down. Maybe he’ll show up later. Maybe he’s doing this so you won’t be angry anymore. So when you meet again, there’ll be no resentment left.”
I nodded, though my chest still felt tight.
