“Raider, do you think Divine is starting to suspect us? She keeps showing up out of nowhere,” I said while we worked.
“I’m not sure,” Raider replied, his voice low and serious. “But we need to be careful. I know her—she won’t stop until she figures out who the woman I love is. And that woman is you.”
A wave of unease washed over me. If Divine ever found out that I was the one Raider loved, she would explode with anger. She wouldn’t hesitate to humiliate me in front of everyone. Worse, my family would eventually hear about it.
