CHAPTER 40 MIAWe had spent the majority of the morning at Adorn as I tried on dress after dress to find the perfect one. But none of the dresses fit me how I wanted … until I tried on the last one. Sheer bodice, A-line style with a light V-neck. Slim around the waist and flowy from the hips down. I felt like a princess. A damn princess. After I ordered the dress and got fitted for it, Serena and I brought Mom back to the assisted living center and went to Vinny’s Pizza to meet Melissa. It was busy, but the waitress immediately found a booth for us. There were a couple guys I recognized from Mason’s frat in here, and I prayed to God that he didn’t show up or that they didn’t come over here to talk to us because either Serena or I would break and punch one of them straight in the nose.
