CHAPTER 42 MIAWith the pregnancy tests stuffed into my purse, I took a deep breath and stepped into the house. I had stayed longer than I’d expected at Serena’s house—crying, trying to convince myself that this was happening for the better, and figuring out how the hell I was going to tell Michael about this. Michael’s car was in the driveway. He had probably gotten home hours ago from the doctor’s appointment with Melissa and was waiting to tell me how it was or even ask about my dress. So many happy things we could talk about, and I had to break this news to him. I cursed myself and shut the car door behind me as quietly as I could. Think positive, Mia. Positive. Nothing you say or do is going to make him hate you. Nothing you say or do is going to make him run away from you either.
