I woke up to screaming.
For a terrifying second, I thought it was the boys. Then I realized the sound was coming from outside, echoing through the boarded windows.
Caden was already on his feet, moving toward the door. Ezra had his phone out, barking orders in a language I didn't understand.
"Stay with them." Caden's command was automatic.
"Like hell." I was already up, checking on Ash and Ryder. They were awake but groggy, confused by the noise. "Maya!"
She appeared in the doorway within seconds. "Already here. What do you need?"
"Stay with the boys. Don't let anyone in except us."
"On it." She moved into the room, positioning herself between the beds and the door, weapon already drawn.
I followed Caden and Ezra into the hallway. The screaming had stopped, replaced by shouting and
