The attack did not come from the media.
It came from inside the building.
At 8:17 a.m., Sophia received an internal notification:
Special Board Assembly – Immediate Attendance Required
No prior scheduling.
No listed agenda.
Sophia looked at Ethan across the breakfast table.
“They’re moving fast,” she said.
Ethan checked his own device.
“This wasn’t filed through executive scheduling.”
“Which means?”
“It was triggered by majority petition.”
Her expression hardened slightly.
“How many signatures?”
“Six.”
The board had twelve voting members.
Six was enough to force an emergency session.
Not enough to pass a motion.
