It hadn't bothered her for months and it shouldn't bother her now. Sunny sat down at the desk and clutched her arms around herself. Just breathe, the voice said. Don't dwell on it. Quietly, Sunny did her best to shut out the dangerous thoughts of running to the bathroom to find out if Jem had hidden the scale there. Of course, Jem wouldn't be that stupid, especially not when they were going to move soon. But still. I don't want to hear anything about scales from you, the voice warned. Anyways. You have two hours. Focus on that. Right, Sunny looked dully at her left hand gripping the pencil. Jem comes home in two hours. Until then, I have enough time to do four readings, write two essays, and study for a STEM course final, before I inevitably become completely distracted by her divine
