Joshua's POV
I stayed there for a while longer, watching Cassandra climbing the stairs of her university, merging into the sea of students entering and leaving the building, until she was out of sight. She exuded such confidence along with a youthful innocence that I couldn't fathom how she could genuinely like me over all these immature boys her age.
I didn't want to delve too deep into why, just grateful for having Cassie with me now. I was afraid that if I pried too much, I might discover something that would break my heart. Furthermore, I was deeply into Cassie and hoped everything would work out between us. With that thought, I restarted my car and backed out of the university parking lot, nearly hitting someone in the process.
