As soon as I took Beckie to my room, I closed the door behind me so that Joshua couldn't hear the private conversation I was about to have with my friend.
"What the hell was that I just witnessed? Did you kiss my boyfriend to see if I would break up with him?" I asked with my arms crossed over my chest.
"Are you even listening to yourself, Cassie? Since when did you start considering that old man your boyfriend?" I rolled my eyes at that. Sometimes my friend acted like a child, even though I was younger than she.
"Joshua is forty-five years old; he's not that old. And even if he were seventy, he would still be my boyfriend, and you have to respect that," I explained to her; she had to stop calling Joshua old in a derogatory way.
