I couldn't describe what I was feeling at that moment. I had heard Mark clearly when he mentioned that the love of his life was admitted to that place, referring to Cassie. And on top of that, Rebecca was looking back and forth between me and my son with wide eyes, clearly surprised.
At that moment, I couldn't grasp exactly what was happening. So many thoughts were swirling in my head simultaneously. It wasn't enough that I was already extremely worried about Cassie being hospitalized; now this had to come up as well. What were the chances that my son had already known my girlfriend all this time?
"Mark? What are you doing here?" Spencer was the first to ask while I was still connecting the dots. Mark shrugged, looking at Spencer.
