Mated to the scary Alpha

Chapter four

“Really?,” Jade asked staring at her brother in awe.

“Yes I saw him, didn’t you guys see him?,” Harumi asked with a raised brow.

“No, that’s the cause of Alberta’s disappointment, she spent so much money on her outfit and still didn’t get the chance to see the Alpha talk more of him noticing her, what a pity.”

“So tell me. What did he look like? What did he say to you? Did he ask if you had sisters?,” Jared blabbered looking tantalized.

“Calm down, it was like I met one on one with death, it’s not a experience one would wish for,” Harumi limply replied.

“Yeah I agree with you, the Alpha is so scary, so I heard,” Jade spoke in understanding. “But I’m not sure Alberta knows that. She goes like this ‘How’ll he know I’m his fated if he can’t even see me’,” Jade mimicked her elder sister as they both laughed mockingly.

Akita walked into the sitting room and they both went quiet immediately. She had been really mad last night when she found out that Harumi had attended the ball, she had already yelled at him but the angry look haven’t left her face.

“Good morning mom,” Harumi greeted her but she glared at her before walking away.

“Don’t worry, she’ll surely come around,” Jade assured tapping her back.

“I have a letter to read. Can you excuse me?,” Dino shot at his mother.

“Oh you shut up and answer the question. Did you find anyone?,” she half yelled while Dino ignored her as he opened the letter he just received.

“I’m not someone to mess with hope you know that Dino, of course you do, you’ve known me for so long. If you failed to find a bride, I found someone and I’ll get you married to her if.......”

“Shut up!” Dino interrupted his mother as he read the content of the letter.

“What?,” Yutani asked, surprised to see the worried look on her sons face, it’s not an expression you get to see all the time.

In less than two seconds a smiled cracked up on face as he began laughing really hard. Yutani snatches the letter from him and hurriedly read it with her brows arched.

“Are you crazy? This isn’t funny,” she scolded throwing the letter at him. “You’ve finally succeeded in ravaging my hard work,” she spoke through gritted teeth.

“Alpha Jared can be so funny at times. Why’s he going overboard just because of a she wolf?,” Alpha Dino sneered when he ended his laughter.

“Dino she wasn’t just a she wolf, she was his mate, you killed his mate you stupid being,” Yutani cursed.

“You better begin to think of what to do, cuz I won’t allow you destroy this pack with your stupidity, think and think fast,” Yutani short at him before walking away, leaving him alone in deep thought.

For once in his life he thought his mother was right, he needs to think fast, cuz Jared had promised to attack him at the first appearance of the full red moon in respect of his dead mate. An idea popped up in his head and he smirked, it will surely help a little.

“No, Romona, no,” Akita screamed at her husband who was glaring at her. They were both locked up in their room arguing about the letter they received from the Alpha.

Romona was a gardener in the Alpha’s house, although he was aged he didn’t plan to retire cuz it was his family source of survival. Harumi’s pay was barely enough for just a week and here in their pack women are not allowed to work or earn money or else as a servant.

“You heard me Akita, who else will represent our family? Is it me?,” He short rendering Akita speechless.

“Romona I understand that you can’t go but you know Harumi’s story, what if he gets caught?,” Akita spoke with tears pouring down her eyes.

“Akita everyone knows Harumi as a boy, you not allowing him go will only raise suspicions,” Romona spoke the bitter truth making Akita cry more. She won’t let Yutani get Harumi, never.....

Harumi’s brows arched as she listened to her father speak. “Alpha Jared gathered allies from other packs and they’re going to attack our pack at the rise of the red moon,” Romona spoke as Akita kept sniffing.

“Alpha Dino don’t have good relationships with other Alpha’s, thus he can’t get any allies but that doesn’t mean we’ll just fold our hands watch our pack get destroyed, we have to fight not withstanding. So for this reason every family that has a males child is expected to volunteer at least one to join the soldiers to increase the number of the troop.” Romona ended his information, while Harumi’s eyes almost popped out it socket as she blinked her lids repeatedly

“Dad it’s not possible for me to join the soldiers, I can’t fight cuz I’m not a boy remember,” Harumi reminded them incase they’ve forgotten.

“Harumi you’ve been partaking of all the advantages of a man you can’t decline the disadvantages, things are not done that way, if you want to be a man, be a complete man,” Romona scolded.

“Now get your things, you’ll be leaving for the Alpha’s house tomorrow morning.”

“Mom!,” Harumi screamed turning to her mother. “What if I die at war?,” Harumi questioned.

“Only those that qualifies after the training gets to go for war, if you don’t catch up you’ll return home,” Akita said trying to make Harumi feel better even if she was also scared but for other reasons.

It was early in the morning and Romona was returning back to work, he took Harumi with him so they could ride on the same horse. He had said his goodbyes to his mom and sisters, Jade had cried praying she doesn’t get selected, and for the first time Alberta was worried about her and she could see it.

“You’re timid, you’re not qualified to be a man talk more of a soldier,” Alberta fired, she was the oldest and the coldest. She was beautiful but she always kept a long face.

His mom had reminded him to remember to cut his hair and take the so called power potion. Ace was Harumi’s close friend but he won’t be going, Ace has said that his senior brother was the one to go. Ace was the only close friend he had, other guys hated him cuz most of their girlfriends had a huge crush on her. She could only pray that things shouldn’t get too toxic.

They arrived the Alpha’s house few hours before the agreed time of arrival, so Harumi took the time to help her father and explore the mansion. She only prayed that things should turn better than she thought, she didn’t want to meet her end here.

Alpha Dino sat in his study where he could hear the voice of the training soldiers and the sound of horses signifying the arrival of the volunteers. He knew that adding this men won’t actually change anything, but he want to give his troop a more powerful look. The battle was his to fight and he knew it, he wasn’t actually depending on his troop.

He exhaled deeply and picked his mask heading to the field, his mom haven’t stopped blaming him for destroying the pack that wasn’t yet destroyed. Whatever happens that day he knew he had to kill Jared for putting up a fight against him.

His coat that was more like a cape swept the ground as he walked pass, his presence carried so much power that the men shivered at the sight of him. They all stopped chatting remembering the reason they were here. The Alpha’s eye moved around staring at the volunteers that stood at the left while the soldiers at the right hand.

“Long live the Alpha,” they bowed in respect while Dino kept glaring at them, he was angry and he couldn’t tell why, he signaled the head soldiers speak and he began.

“Arrange yourself on a proper line,” the soldiers ordered and they hurriedly obeyed arranging themselves with the shorter ones at the front.

Alpha’s Dino eyes caught someone standing at the front line, yeah how could he forget the boy that looked like a girl, the one who could see him.
