Mated to the scary Alpha

Chapter five

He couldn’t help but smirk behind his mask as he stared at the small boy, he was the shortest amongst them all. Dino couldn’t deny that he was impressed with what he saw, how huge and determined the volunteers look.

“From Paro’s family, George.....” the soldiers paused when he saw the Alpha’s hand on the air, indicating the he stop.

“I don’t really care if all families are present here, I seek determined men,” he cold voice making them stand straight.

“He doesn’t care, I could have stayed back home. Is it too late for me to go back?,” she thought feeling the speed in which her heart kept pumping out blood.

“Are you all determined?,” he questioned, his voice making the morning breeze cold to Harumi’s skin.

“Yes Alpha,” the all chorused.

The Alpha stayed quiet with his eyes steady on Harumi, he released a sighed of disbelieve before he began walking up to the volunteers. Even if no one could tell Harumi was sure that the Alpha’s eyes was on her even if her head was facing the ground. Harumi knew that being amongst the shortest and standing at the front line was the beginning of her death.

Beads of sweat appeared on her forehead as the Alpha stood few meters away from her, people were beginning to notice his eyes on her.

Harumi was beginning to get confused. Was her face that recalling? Even if it was and so what? What was the big deal?.

Alpha Dino enjoyed how easily the boy gets scared, and he began doubting the possibility of him have super powers. He was looking like a baby wolf, and also today again he couldn’t track her scent.

After minute of silence he ordered. “Wolfs!! shift,”

In no time all the volunteers shifted as the growled showing how prepared they were. Alpha Dino eyes moved around and stopped on the only being who still stood there and he couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Didn’t you hear the Alpha?,” the head soldiers asked before hurrying to Harumi grasping her arm making her wince in pain.

“Shift,” the soldier ordered but the boy still stood still. Dino recalled his mother’s word and it began making sense. If it was really true he won’t bother calling for a persecution he’ll just end him right here right now.

Without a warning the Soldiers hand landed harshly on Harumi’s cheek making her cry, she was scared she was going to die.

The Alpha signaled the soldier to pause and he obeyed causing everyone to go silent, the only sound that was heard on the field was the growling of the wolfs.

“What’s the problem?,” Alpha Dino asked with a hint of amusement in his voice, he was always happy whenever he finds a prey. Including the fact that he loved drinking blood like vampires, it wasn’t anything supernatural, just a bad habit.

He had heard that the blood of the witches were interesting and tastes different, he had never tasted it before cuz he didn’t want to go hunting for trouble from the witches that stayed peaceful on their lane.

“Do you have a death wish?,” the soldier questioned Harumi when she didn’t respond to the Alpha.

“M...y wolf g..g..got severely injured....” Harumi stuttered helplessly.

“Your wolf got injured?,” Alpha Dino asked and she nodded. “But I don’t see any marks on your body from the ‘severe injuring’,” tha Alpha shot making Harumi swallow hard.

“It’s an injuring that only affect my shifting,” Harumi spoke with her head facing the ground as he heart thumped really hard in her chest.

Alpha Dino could tell that it was lie but he would let it pass, he would like to see how long he can keep up with the act. He nodded in understanding before walking up to him.

“Mhmmmm,. So do you think you’re fit for this mission?,” he questioned walking closer to her.

“Hell no, send me home right now,” Harumi screamed in her head.

“Look at me wolf,” he said with a stern voice, making Harumi raise her head to stare at him “How long will it take for your wolf to heal?,” he asked making Harumi’s head spin.

“Just few days,” she responded and the Alpha scoffed before the turning around and exiting the field. The wolfs began shifting back as they hurried to get a change of cloth.

“A wizard, he’s a wizard, cuz I couldn’t sense his wolf or anything,” Xander spoke as Dino returned back to his study.

“Be calm, if he’s a wizard he’ll surely die, he’ll die by my hands with all his blood drained,” he said grinning from ear to ear as he took of his mask.

It was already two days of the training and Harumi knew she was doing really bad at practice, she knew on the third day she’ll surely be the number one person to be sent home.

She couldn’t be more thankful if that happens, cuz the pass few days has been hell for her, she had to wait for the room to be totally empty or for everyone to sleep off before taking bath, she gets really scared when she bath alone in the very dark night.

She barely ate cuz whenever any of her fellow volunteers isn’t satisfied with their own food they’ll bully her and takes hers. Life wasn’t fair to her in this past few days.

Finally it was day three and a soldier took the names of the volunteers that’ll be sent home to the Alpha for his confirmation. Alpha Dino knew that the boys name must be amongst as he stared at the list, he had taken interest in him and he won’t let him go so easily.

“The boy with the injured wolf is he amongst them?,” Alpha Dino asked to confirm and the soldier thought for a while before nodding.

“Yes Alpha,” the soldier replied.

“Don’t send him away, if you have no use for him send him to me,” he ordered.

What Alpha Dino just said sounded stupid but who could question the Alpha, not just any Alpha, the darkest wolf ever lived.

“Yes Alpha,” he bowed exiting the room.

Harumi was confused when they asked two other people that were better than her to go home and she was still there. “Why?,” she thought, feeling like tearing up.

“You,” the soldier pointed to her and she happily turned to him, she thought he had forgotten to mention her name, she was feeling so glad.

“Follow me,” he said making Harumi’s brow arched. “Was he going to show me the way out?” She thought.

Seeing that he was already ahead she quickly sprinted forward trying to catch his fast pace.

He took her to a very high place that wasn’t too big but very beautiful, it had a huge window from where you could stare down at people.

She stood there too afraid to sit on any of the neat looking chairs. She stood like forever before the Alpha walked in, dressed in an all black outfit, his coat was as long as usual, hid black mask had a touch of gold on it that made him look really dangerous, his hair fell to the back leaving no strands.

The black animal on his hand made him look like an ancient statue or a god people worship. His green eyes will make you guess he was handsome but his voice and demeanor will make you think he has the face of a beast.

“Good day Alpha,” she bowed showing her respect.

“How’s your shifting injury?,” he went straight to the point as he concentrated on petting the animal he was carrying.

“Uhmm,” she knew he would ask her to shift if she says yes, her head ached as she bite her bottom lip. “No, just some more days,” she replied and the Alpha turned and glared at her, Harumi could only wish for the ground to open and swallow her.

“Are you joking around with me?,” He asked and Harumi quickly shook her head. Telling him that she doesn’t have a wolf will only make things worst.

He took steady steps towards her and whispered. “Little wizard.” Harumi flinched and raised her eyes to meet his glaring ones.

“I’m not a wizard,” Harumi defended.

“What are you then?,” he asked making Harumi confused. “You can see me can’t you?.” Harumi furrowed at his question, of course she could see him. She just noticed that it was the both of them in this room, without even one soldier.

“You don’t have a wolf and you are not a wizard. What are you then, human?” He asked and Harumi went tongue tied.

“You don’t want to know what I do to intruders, especially being of your kind,” he spoke with danger in his voice, cursing Harumi to freeze at her spot.
