Chapter 2: The Game Begins
Jin stormed into his office, his eyes blazing with fury. Ryan, his best friend and confidant, looked up from the papers on his desk. He knew for sure something was wrong. He had known Jin from childhood and he could interprete the slightest expression on his face into the right emotion and right now he saw anger, piping hot blazing anger with frustration cream, served with a cup of chilled fading self control.
"What's going on?" Ryan asked, his voice low and concerned.
Jin poured himself a glass of whiskey, his movements economical. "Helena showed up at the funeral. She's claiming a share of the family's wealth." he said using the last self control in him to avoid banging the table to division .
Ryan's eyes narrowed. "On what grounds?"
Jin handed him the documents Helena had given Sophia. "According to this, she's Richard's ex-wife. And she's got a clause in the will that says 'every child birthed by her for him' gets a share."
Ryan's face turned grim as he scanned the papers. "This could be a problem,, a very big problem ."
Jin's jaw cliked. "I know. I've already told her she'll have to go through the proper channels. But I need you to dig up some dirt on her. Find out what she's hiding." So I can use them to black mail her or weaken her points in court.
Ryan nodded, his eyes already scanning the documents. "I'll get on it. What about the will?"
Jin's face turned cold. "It hasn't been read yet. We're waiting for the lawyers to sort out the paperwork."
Ryan's eyes widened. "So nobody knows what's in it?"
Jin shook his head. "Not yet. But I'm not going to let Helena get her hands on anything she doesn't deserve." Jin was a man of his words, whenever he said he would do something, he eventually does it, no matter the obstacle.
Ryan nodded, his face set in a determined expression. "I'll contact the lawyers and see if we can get a gag order on the will until we can figure out what's going on."
Jin nodded, his eyes already moving to the next step. "Good. And contact Marcus and Victor. I want them to keep an eye on Helena. I don't trust her."
Ryan's eyes flicked up, but he didn't ask questions. "Got it."
Jin leaned back in his chair, his eyes narrowing. "I also want you to reach out to... certain people. You know, the ones who owe us favors. I want them to be ready to move if Helena tries to pull anything shady ."
Ryan's face turned grim. "You're talking about the underground guys."
Jin's eyes glinned with a cold light. "I'm talking about doing whatever it takes to protect this family's interests."
It was obvious that Jin would do whatever it took to protect the interest of his family and everything that his late father, Richard, had worked for. There was no way he was going to let Helena take a pin from their wealth and he would make sure of it.
Ryan nodded, his face set in a determined expression. "I'll take care of it."
As Ryan left the office, Jin's phone buzzed. He answered, his voice cold.
"Jin speaking."
The voice on the other end was low and gravelly. "Jin, it's Dominic. I heard about Helena's little stunt at the funeral."
Dominic was one of the DONS who ruled the country, as the tittle, president, was just a tittle, there were thoes who held much more power and control than he president.
Jin's eyes narrowed. Dominic was a powerful man, with connections in both the legal and underground worlds.
"What do you know?" Jin asked, his voice low.
Dominic chuckled. "I know she's got a few skeletons in her closet. And I know you're going to need help taking her down."
Jin's eyes glinned with interest. "What kind of help?"
Dominic's voice turned serious. "The kind that'll make her disappear. For a price, of course."
Jin's face turned cold. "I'm listening."
As the conversation continued, Jin's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with strategies and counter-strategies.
The game was on, and Jin was ready to play. Play dirty.

Meanwhile, Helena smiled to herself as she watched Jin's security team tailing her. She'd expected him to react this way.
She pulled out her phone and dialed a number. "It's time to implement plan B," she said, her voice low and husky. She was ready, ready to play this game towards whatever way Jin and his team attacked from. She herself was no clean woman. She was also ready to play, play dirty.
The voice on the other end chuckled. "You're playing with fire, Helena."
Every one knew better than to fight or have even the slightest quarrel with the Richard family, yet Helena dared. She dared battle with the mighty Jin, who was even colder and harder than his late father, Richard. She certainly was playing with fire and was certain to get burnt.
Helena's smile grew wider. "I'm counting on it."

As the day went on, Jin's team worked tirelessly to dig up dirt on Helena. But she was one step ahead, her own team working behind the scenes to cover her tracks.
Helena felt so smart, covering up her tracks like that but Jin had other plans, he meant to play and to play dirty. If Helena was going to cover up her dirty footsteps, then he was going to falsify new dirty footsteps for her. It was either she paid for the crimes that she had committed or she would have to pay for the crimes she never committed. Either way, she was sure to go down and he was certain to make sure of it.
The battle for the Richard's empire was heating up, and nobody knew what the outcome would be.
But one thing was certain : only one person would come out on top.
