Chapter 10: The Unsettling Resemblance
Jimmy walked into the massive mansion , his eyes adjusting to the soft light, With such an amazing house being Jin was easy but the rest of it was hard, very hard, too hard and he silently prayed for Jin to get out of coma. His life was all flashy but was indeed a beautiful mess he was already willing to get out of. But the pay, the pay was irresistible, he would have to work ten whole years in his normal Job as Jimmy and would still not get what he would get from this .
Sophia was sitting on the couch, her gaze fixed on a photo of her late husband. She looked fragile, her eyes red-rimmed from tears. Even though her husband was a man of secrets and all what they said he was, he was never a bad husband or person to her at all. He showered her with love, lots of gifts and laughters, and she could not help but give way to tears at his memories. She missed him, and that was certain.
Jimmy's instincts kicked in, and he walked over to her, his movements fluid. He placed a hand on her shoulder, his touch gentle. "Mother, everything is going to be alright. I'm here, and I'll make sure you don't miss Father too much."
Sophia looked up at him, her eyes searching. For a moment, Jimmy thought he saw a glimmer of gratitude there, but then her expression hardened, and she nodded. "Thank you, Jin. I'm just... missing him, that's all."
Jimmy nodded, his eyes locked onto hers. "I know, Mother. But you're not alone. I'm here, and I'll take care of everything."
Sophia nodded again, her eyes dropping to the photo. Jimmy patted her shoulder once more before turning and walking out of the parlor.
As he made his way to his room, Jimmy couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. He looked like Jin, acted like Jin, but he wasn't Jin. He was Jimmy, and he was starting to get confused, why was he being this man with so much ease, like it was nothing, like it had always been a part of him he had only forgotten .
Once in his room, Jimmy flopped onto the bed, his mind racing. He thought about Jin, lying in that hospital bed, his face pale and still. He thought about how much they looked alike, how they could easily pass as twins and anyone would believe it was the truth, even himself .
And then, like a punch to the gut, Layla's face popped into his mind. He wondered if he should call her, apologize for his behavior earlier. But Jin wouldn't do that, would he? The idea of Jin was beginning to sound like a bad person to him. How does a person not apologise for being wrong.
Jimmy shrugged, pulling out his phone " Damn Jin " he thought to himself . He sent a quick text, his fingers hovering over the keyboard, wondering if he should go ahead with sending the text. How come was he so good at being Jin but socked at it when it came to this woman . "I'm sorry." He typed, thinking about it, it felt like something Jin would actually do so he hit the send button.
He hit send, his eyes fixed on the screen. The message was delivered, and Jimmy waited, his heart pounding in his chest.

Layla was in her room, doing her night skincare routine. She was applying a face mask, her eyes closed, when her phone buzzed. She opened her eyes, reaching for the phone.
Her eyes scanned the screen, and a look of disdain crossed her face. "Yeah, that's the Jin I know. No long apologies, just rubbish."
She threw the phone onto the bed, continuing with her routine. A few minutes later, she crawled into bed, her eyes fixed on the ceiling.

The next day, Jimmy walked into the office, Ryan by his side. "Jin, you've got a lot of work to catch up on," Ryan said, handing him a stack of documents.
Jimmy nodded, his eyes scanning the papers. He had learned Jin's signature, thanks to Ryan's help. He signed document after document, his hand moving swiftly like an expert, like he was used to it, like he was made for it.
Just as he was finishing up, an official walked in, a look of importance on his face. "Mr. Jin Richard, I'm here on behalf of Smithson & Co. We need your fingerprint on this document as a sign of approval and consent."
Jimmy's eyes met Ryan's, and they exchanged a panicked glance. _Oh no, busted_, their eyes seemed to say. Jimmy was a replica of Jin but there
Jimmy thought quickly, a plan forming in his mind If there was one dominant thing about Jimmy, it was his ability to think fast and think smart . "I can sign on the document for you, but I'm not inking my thumb. Hygiene, you know." he said, looking the official straight in the eyes, giving the Jin stare. The kind of stare that makes a person melt under his gaze, a stare that looked straight into the soul of a person.
The official frowned. "It's a thumb print or nothing, Mr. Richard. Company policy."
Jimmy raised an eyebrow, a hint of arrogance creeping into his voice. "A business man like myself owning multi-billionaire companies all over the country and out, You think I'd ink my thumb for just one contract? That's worth millions, not billions. Signature or nothing."
The official looked taken aback, he knew for sure that this contract would favour him more than it would Jin, so he nodded reluctantly. "Fine, Mr. Richard. Sign it."
Jimmy let out a silent breath as he signed the document. Ryan's eyes met his, and they both breathed a sigh of relief.
Jimmy handed the document back to the official, his expression calm. "Is that all?"
The official nodded, taking the document. "Yes, Mr. Richard. That's all."
Jimmy nodded, his eyes dismissing the official. "Good. Ryan, see him out."
Ryan nodded, following the official out of the office. Jimmy leaned back in his chair, his heart still racing from the close call.
