Chapter 4: The Family Matters
The morning sun cast a warm glow over the Richard's mansion, illuminating the tense atmosphere that had settled over the family like a thick shroud. The air was heavy with the scent of freshly brewed coffee and the soft hum of the air conditioner, a stark contrast to the anxiety that filled the room. Sophia, Jin's mother, sat in the dining room, sipping her coffee and staring at the newspaper, her eyes scanning the headlines with a mixture of concern and determination.
Aisha, Jin's sister, walked in, her eyes red-rimmed from lack of sleep, her hair tousled from a restless night. She looked fragile, but her eyes sparkled with a fierce determination. "Mom, have you seen Jin?" she asked, her voice low and husky.
Sophia looked up, her eyes concerned, her face etched with worry. "He's in his office, dear, probably on his way back now, he'll be back any second . He's preparing for the court case today." She gestured with a manicured hand, her diamond ring glinking in the morning light.
Aisha nodded, her eyes dropping to the newspaper, her brow furrowed in concentration. "Do you think we'll win, Mom?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Sophia's face was grim, her eyes clouding over like a stormy sky. "I don't know, Aisha. Helena's got a strong case. But Jin's determined. He'll do whatever it takes to protect our family's interests." Her voice was firm, but Aisha detected a hint of doubt beneath the surface.
Aisha nodded, her eyes filling with worry, her face pale. "I hope so, Mom. I don't want to lose what's rightfully ours." She looked like a lost child, searching for reassurance.
Sophia's face softened, and she reached out to pat Aisha's hand, her touch warm and comforting. "Don't worry, dear. We'll get through this together." Her voice was a gentle whisper, a soothing balm to Aisha's frazzled nerves.
Just then, Jin walked in, his eyes scanning the room, his face set in a determined expression. He was dressed in a crisp white shirt and a navy blue suit, his tie perfectly knotted, his hair immaculately styled. He looked every inch the confident businessman, but Aisha saw the tension in his shoulders, the faint lines etched on his forehead.
"Good morning, everyone," he said, his voice low and smooth, like honey.
Sophia and Aisha looked up, their eyes locking onto Jin's, searching for reassurance. "Good morning, Jin," Sophia said, her voice warm, but with a hint of tension.
Jin nodded, his eyes serious, his face set in a determined expression. "I want to talk to you both about the court case today. Helena's got a strong case, but we've got a plan to counter it."
Aisha's eyes widened, her face pale, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "What plan?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jin's face was cold, his eyes determined, his jaw set in a firm line. "We're going to expose her financial records. We'll show the court that she's been hiding money in offshore accounts." His voice was like ice, sending a shiver down Aisha's spine.
Sophia's eyes narrowed, her face set in a determined expression, her eyes flashing with anger. "Good. Let's take her down." Her voice was low and husky, like a growl.
Aisha nodded, her eyes filling with determination, her face set in a fierce expression. "I'm coming to the court with you, Jin."
Jin nodded, his eyes softening, his face relaxing into a gentle smile. "Okay, Aisha. But stay close to Mom, okay?" His voice was gentle, but firm.
Aisha nodded, her eyes locked onto Jin's, her face set in a determined expression.

As they arrived at the court, the tension was palpable, like a living, breathing entity. The courtroom was packed, the air thick with the scent of perfume and sweat. Helena was already there, her children Tom and Jerry by her side, looking like spoiled little rich boys in their designer suits and smug expressions.
Helena's lawyer stood up, his eyes confident, his face set in a triumphant smile. "Your Honor, we have a witness who can testify to the marriage between Ms. Helena and Richard Richard."
The judge nodded, his eyes serious, his face expressionless. "Proceed, counsel."
Helena's lawyer called a woman to the stand, and she testified that she had witnessed the marriage between Helena and Richard. Sophia's eyes narrowed, her face skeptical, her eyes flashing with doubt, while Aisha's eyes widened with worry, her face pale.
Jin's lawyer stood up, his eyes narrowed, his face set in a determined expression. "Ma'am, can you describe the ceremony?" he asked, his voice firm, but polite.
The woman hesitated, her eyes flicking to Helena, her face twitching with uncertainty. "Uh, it was a small ceremony, just a few friends and family." Her voice was hesitant, her words tumbling out in a nervous rush.
Jin's lawyer's eyes narrowed further, his face set in a disbelieving expression. "And where did this ceremony take place?" he asked, his voice dripping with skepticism.
The woman hesitated again, her eyes darting around the room, her face growing redder by the second. "Uh, I'm not sure." Her voice was barely above a whisper, her words dying on her lips.
Aisha's eyes looked at her mother, her face filled with doubt, her eyes wide with worry, while Sophia's face remained stoic, her eyes flashing with anger.
Jin's lawyer's voice was firm, his words like a slap in the face. "You're not sure? Can you provide any documentation of this marriage?" His eyes were like ice, boring into the woman's very soul.
The woman shook her head, her eyes dropping to the floor, her face crimson with shame. "Uh, no."
The courtroom erupted into murmurs, and the judge banged his gavel, his face stern. "Order, please!"
Jin's lawyer turned to the judge, his voice confident, his face set in a triumphant smile. "Your Honor, it's clear that this witness is not credible. We request that her testimony be stricken from the record."
The judge nodded, his eyes serious, his face expressionless. "Very well. The witness's testimony is stricken from the record."
Helena's face turned red with anger, her eyes glaring at Jin, her face twisted with rage. She stormed out of the courtroom, her children following behind her like obedient puppies, their faces smug and confident, but their eyes betraying a hint of doubt.
Tom and Jerry looked at each other, their faces smug and confident, but their eyes flicked to their mother, their faces twitching with uncertainty.
Jin's lawyer stood up, his eyes scanning the courtroom, his face set in a determined expression. "Your Honor, we also have evidence that the alleged marriage between Ms. Helena and Richard Richard was dissolved on terms that neither party would claim any financial separation or inheritance."
The courtroom erupted into gasps, and Helena's face turned white, her eyes wide with shock. Sophia's eyes widened, her face filled with surprise, while Aisha's eyes looked at Jin, her face filled with admiration.
The judge nodded, his eyes serious, his face expressionless. "This is a significant revelation, counsel. Proceed with your evidence."
Jin's lawyer nodded, his eyes confident, his face set in a triumphant smile. "We have a copy of the dissolution agreement, signed by both parties."
The courtroom erupted into chaos, and the judge banged his gavel, his face stern. "Order, please!"
As the courtroom settled down, Jin's eyes locked onto Ryan's, his face set in a determined expression. "It's not over yet," he whispered, his voice low and menacing.
Ryan nodded, his eyes serious, his face set in a determined expression. "I know, Jin. But we've got a good chance of winning."
Jin nodded, his eyes scanning the courtroom, his face set in a determined expression. "Let's get back to work."
