Chapter 12: The Complicated Truth
Jimmy's eyes locked onto Leila's, his heart pounding in his chest like a drum solo. He could feel the tension between them, thick and palpable, like the air before a storm. He knew he had to tread carefully, but he couldn't help the way he felt. But still, he did not want to ruin things between Jin and Leila.
"Leila, I wanted to talk to you about us," Jimmy said, his voice low and husky, his words tumbling out like a confession.
Leila's eyes narrowed, her expression guarded, her voice cautious. "What about us, Jin?"
Jimmy took a deep breath, his mind racing with the implications of what he was about to say. But he couldn't help it, he had to be honest, even if it meant risking everything.
"I know things have been tough between us lately," Jimmy said, his voice steady, his eyes never leaving Leila's. "But I want to make it work, Leila. I want to be with you, to make you happy."
Leila's expression softened, a glimmer of surprise in her eyes, Jin was being unusually sweet, more like the missing piece of his character she needed, her voice was barely above a whisper when she said . "Jin, I... I don't know what to say."
Jimmy's heart skipped a beat as he reached out, his hand brushing against Leila's, his touch sending shivers down her spine. "You don't have to say anything, Leila. Just know that I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."
Leila's eyes locked onto his, her gaze searching, her voice husky. "Jin, what's going on with you? You've been so distant lately, and now... now you're being like this. What's changed?"
Jimmy's mind racing, he tried to think of an answer, but before he could respond. Almost immediately, his phone beeped and he he pulled out his phone to check the message, expecting it to be Ryan but he was wrong. It was from the Devil's second in command herself. Helena and the text read : " How about a little step mother and step son meet up to discuss things and settle amicably? “. He noticed the curious look on Leila face and he turned the phone screen towards her so she could see.
" It's Helena ", he said before turning the phone back to himself
He immediately typed out a message to Helena.
"No, Helena. We have nothing to discuss. See you in court," he typed, his thumbs flying across the screen and he hit the send button .
Leila's eyes widened as she saw the message, a look of understanding crossing her face. "You're not going to give in to her, are you?"
Jimmy shook his head, a determined look on his face. "No way, Leila. I'm not going to let her get her hands on the inheritance. I'll fight her to the end."
Leila's eyes sparkled with admiration, her voice filled with pride. "I knew I could count on you, Jin, your such a determined man ."

The doctor's eyes were fixed on Jin's face, he was performing some check ups on him, he checked his pulse, his heart rate and so on. Taking some notes as he checked, his expression intent as he checked his vital signs, Jin's heart is stable and he is on a good path, mostly . Jin lay still, his body motionless, his eyes closed.
Suddenly, Jin's index finger flickered, a small movement, but enough to catch the doctor's attention. The doctor's eyes widened, a look of excitement crossing his face. "He's responding! He's coming back!"
This man was a stubborn one, even in a coma he was still fighting to get better and come back to the world of the living, he was probably thinking about his business while he was in coma that was the Jin Richard everyone knew, strong, tough, impossible to break.

Helena's living room was filled with the sound of arguing voices. Helena's lawyer, a sleek, well-dressed man, was speaking in hushed tones, his words tumbling out in a rapid-fire sequence.
"We need to be careful, Helena. We can't just assume that Jin is out of the picture. We need to be prepared for anything."
Helena's eyes narrowed, a look of calculation crossing her face. "I know he's dead. I saw to it myself. He's gone."
Her lawyer's expression was skeptical, his eyes darting to the two men standing behind Helena. Tom and Jerry, her sons, looked like they were about to fall asleep, their eyes glazed over with boredom. It was difficult to believe that these two grown up men were actually older than the thirty two years old Jin, they were everything bad that Jin wasn't. Lazy, cowardly, stupid, dumb, you name it.
"Guys, we need to focus," Helena said, her voice sharp, her eyes flashing with annoyance. "We can't let our guard down now. We need to make sure we get that inheritance."
Tom and Jerry nodded, their expressions serious, but it was clear they were just going through the motions.
Helena's eyes rolled, her voice exasperated. "You're both useless. Why can't you be more like Jin?"
The lawyer's eyes widened, a look of alarm crossing his face. "Helena, focus. We need to come up with a plan."
Helena's expression turned cold, her voice dripping with venom. "I have a plan. And it's going to work. Trust me."
As they continued to argue, Helena's phone buzzed in her pocket, She had sent a text to Jin's phone just now just to confirm his death, but she knows his team would not want anyone to know of Jin's death just so they can win. She pulled it out, her eyes scanning the screen.
"No, Helena. We have nothing to discuss. See you in court," she read, a look of mockery and fake pity crossing her face as she kick started an evil laugh .
Her lawyer's eyes widened, a look of concern crossing his face. "What is it, Helena?"
A wild evil laughter escaped her lips
" It's a message from supposed Jin, these people think I'm dumb, no one can survive that kind of accident, Jin is obviously dead and his team are using his phone to hide their fears, I guess the dead do text. "
