Scarlett’s POV Lyra found her way into the palace with the excuse of returning linens to the rooms in the palace. She found me in the hallway. “I found them,” she whispered, casting a glance over her shoulder to make sure no one saw us talking. She pressed herself into the wall as she spoke. “I found your omegas.” My chest tightened. “Where? Are they okay?” “They’re in the city, they’re working in the city.” She sounded like she was about to say something that she wasn’t sure how I would react. “They’re at seperate ends though.” I placed a hand on her shoulder. “What do you mean by they’re at seperate ends.” She nodded, eyes wide. “Moana works with a spice merchant at the east gates, one of the omegas I know here has a cousin who helps him unload goods there, she said the merchant is kind. He feeds his workers, pays them fairly and he keeps them safe from outsiders.” I exhaled, the breath I didn’t know I was holding. Moana would survive, and she was safe. “What about Miriam?” Lyra hesitated before she spoke. “She’s with another merchant, not a cruel one but just very strict. She’ll be fine as long as she keeps her head down and does her work. Not drawing much attention, she’ll be paid for her work and she can keep her ears peeled for another.” I was silent, there was a pause as I considered what she had said. “I know it doesn’t sound like the best,” Lyra said softly, “but I know it’s better than this palace. These concubines… they act out sometimes. You must have heard them, it’s worse when the person is an omega. They punish us and most omegas here live in fear.” I nodded, “I guess you’re right.” But still something in me felt bad. They were outside the palace walls, and that was a good thing but they were alone and I wasn’t there to protect them from predators. As I had vowed. *** Later that day, I wandered in the palace, bored out of my mind. As a princess of my pack, I had responsibilities even though I was well taken care of. Here, I was basically used just for pleasuring the Alpha. The war wing of the palace was very quiet. No one in the palace except the guards stationed there were bold enough to enter his Strategy room. But here I was… at the door. My curiousity got the better of me. I opened the door with a slight resistance and inside a heavy wooden table had piles of scrolls and maps on it, with some ink. I moved towards it, my eyes scanned the details on the maps. It showed regions, ports, and cargo lines. My gaze was fixed on some red marks around the southern coast. It was a port. I tilted my head to get a better view of the connecting waters. Draco entered silently behind me, I had no idea he was even there. “You shouldn’t be in here,” he said. I was startled. But there was no anger in his voice as he looked at me. My eyes still on the map, “I was bored… and I wandered through the palace.” His eyes followed mine, and he stepped behind me. “That port, the red dunes, freight comes in through it.” “Yes. I can see but you’re wasting it.” I said without hesitation. “Look,” I pointed. “If you shifted your incoming cargo east, you’d avoid the bottleneck here and you can tax the sand traders instead. Double your revenue with half the chaos.” He looked at the map and blinked. Then a small smirk appeared on his face. “You just outdid three of my advisors.” “If they can't see that, then you need better advisors.” He let out a soft laugh and rolled the edge of the map up, removing the open papers out of my view. “I’ll make the necessary changes.” Just like that, he didn’t argue and he didn’t act like what I had said didn’t matter. He had listened to me. And that made me feel like there was a possibility that he was softening up to me, a mistake on his part. “Now you said, you said something about feeling bored?” He said, mischief in his voice. “Why yes? I have nothing to do in this palace.” He moved towards me again, slowly this time. Towering over me as usual, his body was warm but he didn’t move to undress me or even to touch me. “There are activities that I think can occupy your time now.” He brushed my hair back, and kissed me like it was a new thing, like we hadn’t just done this the night before. And then he went lower. He hadn’t done this before, his mouth was greedy and careful as he raised me by my hips on the table. He kissed my inner thighs like he was asking for permission but I knew he wasn’t. His lips found my moistness quickly, his tongue worshiped every part of me, he had no demands and he didn’t want anything from me. His tongue was slow but unrelenting, I arched my body in response as a gasp escaped my mouth. He didn’t stop, he didn’t take. He just kept giving me as much pleasure. As I rode each wave, I thought there’d be nothing left but there was more. There was more pleasure with every passing moment, his eyes were peeled on me when I looked down, my hands were in his hair and his fingers dug into my hips. We stared into each other’s eyes as I rode the final storm, my body could take no more pleasure from him and I laid on the table, spent and still vibrating from my orgasms. *** Hanna’s POV “Who was in his chamber last night?” The omega trembled in fear, holding the edge of her apron. “It was Mistress Scarlett, she hasn’t left his chambers since she arrived. She’s the only one he has slept with. No one else.” My blood boiled. “She must have put a spell on him or maybe she’s drugging him“ I snapped. The girl didn’t respond or even make eye contact. I slapped her across the face in anger, and left her with a bruised cheek as I marched down the corridor to the strategy room in the war wing. He dared to refuse me and then he went to be with her.I was his favorite and I would always be. If he wouldn’t speak to me in his chambers then I’d speak to him again. The guards weren’t even there. I stepped into the dark hall and then I heard the sound of someone gasping. I took a peek through the door and I was left in surprise. I saw her laid on the table, by Draco, My Alpha and King was on his knees before her. His mouth was in between her legs. Her thighs were trembling around his shoulders. His hands gripped her hips like he was holding onto her for dear life. And she moaned in pleasure for him. My breath caught in my throat, it was like I needed to vomit. My anger filled my soul. He had never touched me like that in all my time of being his favorite concubine. Never worshipped me in bed. And here he was, pleasuring this… this witch. I turned and ran down the hall, blind with tears and pure anger, I fled to my chambers. The image of Draco kneeling in front of Scarlett was now etched in my brain. She had taken my Draco’s desire… but I would make sure she felt my hatred.
