“So you are working for the Alpha King now? How’s it like?” April spilled out, probably unable to contain her curiosity any longer. We had followed Drew into the garden, trailing his paw prints passively. They had just returned from their mandatory two days of rest before the Peace Week.
Jess swatted her on the shoulder, causing April to scowl at her unkindly.
“What? Don’t tell me you are not curious to know to. No one has ever seen the Alpha King’s face but luckily for us, we have a friend who gets to see him everyday. Excuse me if I decide to milk that advantage. No offense, Vee,” she added for my benefit. Jess sighed softly in agreement but said nothing more.
