Chapter 52Nadine Hanson ran through Uncle Noah's backyard. The high grass, blanketed by large patches of fallen leaves, was wet and unkempt. Neglected. She spent a few seconds pounding fists on the back door before throwing her shoulder against the wood. There was no give. She wasn't going to be able to force entry this way. The damn door was too solid, and she wasn't strong or big enough to make it budge. There was no doubt her uncle was inside calling for help. She could still hear him.
