Chapter II

~ Rain I hesitated for a minute while gripping the door handle, until I finally opened it. However, what I saw made my eyes widen and my heart sink. This was the last thing I expected to happen. My best friend Stacey along with my boyfriend Caleb, who claimed that he wasn't going to attend the party were kissing, on top of each other. I gasped loudly catching both of their attention. They both looked at me in sync, shock clouded their expression. I didn't leave a chance for any one of them to utter a word and ran off down the stairs. I could hear Caleb call out for me and shout, "Wait, Rain! I can explain." However, I never turned back. I made my way through the crowd to outside the building making sure to lose him in the crowd, so that he doesn't corner me outside. Just as I got out, I could smell the fresh air again. It was the middle of the night and I had no idea how to get back home on my own. I had barely enough money to buy a coke, let alone finding a ride back home this late. I sighed, taking off my sandals since it would slow me down if I tried to run in those. I wouldn't want to tear it. And so I ran and ran until I was almost certain that I was far enough. This whole time, I fought the urge to drop down on my knees and cry my eyes out and ran as far away from them as possible advancing further into the middle of nowhere. I didn't have the slightest idea where I was, but I could tell that the more I walk away from the party the more quieter and creeper the streets became. Panic started to get to me. I could feel my hands shaking and my teeth clattering. I wasn't even sure if I crossed a territory that didn't belong to my pack. If that was it I would have been eaten by other wolves before I even knew it. Each pack is protective and possessive over what belongs to it. That thought calmed my thumping heart a little. I was in an empty, quiet and dark street that had no buildings and was completely lifeless except for the occasionally passing car. The cars moved so fast that they wouldn't bother to stop for a stranger, wandering the streets at night while barefoot. I stood in a corner of a few minutes trying to think of what I should do and trying my hardest to hold back the tears that kept threatening to fall. I opened the zipper of my bag and pulled out my phone to call my father. I hoped that he was done with his job because I didn't want to be that spoiled brat that kept complaining all the time. I kept telling myself that my makeup would get ruined if I cried and that would give people all the more reason to be afraid to stop for me, in case my father didn't answer and I had to this as my only option. I dialed the number of my father and waited for him to answer. First ring... Second ring... However, there was no answer. Suddenly I felt my phone being snatched from my hand. I spun my head around to see who was that. It was the creeper from the party. The one with the hidden weapons. He ended the call and tossed my phone away. I opened my mouth to scream, but he forcibly pressed his palm against my mouth almost as if chocking me rather than just keeping my mouth shut. Despite the situation I kept trying to scream for help. However, only a low muffled sound came out and could be clearly heard. "No one would hear you in this place, stupid girl." He chuckled. His accent was different. I was sure this was the Lycan Hill's accent. I would never mistake it. Now I made certain that he was from this pack. Was everything my father told me not just a rumor? Is he going to kidnap me now? Was it all true? Those questions kept swirling in my head, too sacred to know their answers. My eyes widened as I saw his hands moving closer towards my body. I screamed again, but only resulted in him pressing harder, choking me even more. His hands went down my butt, checking out and caressing parts of my body that I had been saving for my mate all these years. "You have a nice physique and a pretty face too. I like it!" He licked his lips and started leaning in closer. I wasn't able to hold it any longer and let my tears slide down my cheeks. I tried pushing him away several times, but it was as if I didn't even give it any effort. He didn't budge. I kept crying, closing my eyes and thinking what would happen if I was ever to meet my mate. I would be ashamed to even show face to him. I tried pushing him away again, however, this time for some reason, it worked. I couldn't feel him close against my body anymore. I opened my eyes to find him lying on the floor, looking up at someone in fear. I followed his eyes and found, 'grey eyes' that I met and briefly talked to at the party. He had my phone in his hands and was slowly approaching that other guy. He got up so quickly that I was almost certain I heard his knees crack even from what seemed to be a three feet distance. He frantically ran away just as he was up on his feet. His reaction and the look in his eyes made me realize that these two had a previous encounter... And it wasn't very pleasant. The creeper was out of sight before I even knew it. 'Grey eyes' handed me back my phone and a tissue to wipe my tears away. "Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded quietly as a response. "I hope I didn't come too late!" "Thank you!" I muttered, wiping away my tears and the black stains on my cheeks from the eyeliner and mascara. It was better than no coming at all. I thought. "Here let me help you!" He stretched out his hands. I shook my head, in refusal. "No, I am okay." I insisted. "Are you sure?" I nodded. "Okay, let me at least give you a ride home. It's pretty dangerous for pretty girls like you to wander the streets alone and that time of night." I hesitated. I didn't want to look desperate, but I had no way of getting back home if my father didn't answer my calls. "You saw that for your self." he continued, proving his point even more. "Okay. That'd be nice of you!" i forced out. He smiled and mentioned for me to follow him. I did as he said and walked close behind him, turning around every now and then to check the area, in order to see if there was any more creepers waiting for a good chance to come out. I had a feeling of distrust towards this guy and now, I was following him into his car. How naive! But still he saved my sorry ass back there. I didn't want to think of what could have happened if he didn't show up. I was grateful for that. We reached his car. He opened the passenger seat door for me to get in and so I did. However, I still couldn't shake the feeling of distrust towards him. Something about his aura kept telling me that he was dangerous... Bad news!
