~ Rain "What made you kill the daughter of the Moon Goddess?" I asked, not minding that opening up about something like that would be too much for people who just met each other.  "That is too bold of you to ask."He replied, chuckling a little.  "You have to answer. It's the rules and you can't change them." I insisted.  "Who set these rules?" He wondered, doubting my words.  "I did." I replied, confidently. A moment of silence passed, followed by another and another. "Hmm? I am waiting for your answer." I said impatiently.  "This was my sin." He started. "I did it to be the Alpha." I can feel an emotion swirling through his words, but I was not quite sure if it was remorse, grief or guilt. It was a mixture of complex emotions that he was trying so hard not to let it show. I could tell that this was a hard topic for him and he obviously did not want to talk about it. I decided not to ask anymore questions concerning this topic. "Okay! Your turn." I spoke suddenly after a few minutes of silence.  "Who do you trust the most?" He asked. I remember he just told me not to trust anyone and that I was trusting people easily. Why this sudden change of heart?  "Now you are contradicting yourself." I raised an eyebrow and waited for him to explain.  "Why do you people always like to twist my words?" He wondered. I did fully comprehend what he was getting at with that remark, but I decided to shrug it off, answering his question.  "I think I trust my father the most." I replied, not quite sure if I was telling the truth.  "You made that choice recently, did not you?" He question. I concluded that he was referring to the breakup, however, I genuinely had no idea how to answer his question. Suddenly, I remembered something.  "I forgot to tell you something." I started. "I will have to go back to my pack as soon as possible, so I need to get over with my verdict tonight and be there by tomorrow morning to check on my father." I decided to explain in detail what I had to do since he already knew the whole story, there was no point in hiding anymore.  "First of all, You father is not a target. He was bait, just to get to You. The target. They would not kill one of their people for nothing." He explained.  "Still I need to go back as fast as I could." I insisted. I can't deny, but his words comforted the racing thoughts in my brain. His words convinced me, but I still wanted to see that with my own eyes.  "Second of all, your verdict is not that simple. However, you would be free to go wherever you please after completely fulfilling it, until then, you are not allowed to go back." He continued, ignoring what I just said.  "And what this verdict might be?" I questioned.  "You will know when the time comes. Do not rush it." He advised.  "Is it that bad?" I scoffed.  "It could be." He started. "For you." For me? How many people are in this?   "Did someone else cross your territory?" I asked, trying to get him to say who else was in this with me.  "Not exactly." He replied. His answers were vague. They raised more questioned than they answered.  "Then who is going through this verdict with me?" I asked.  "Me." He replied and for once, his reply was straightforward and to the point, but still it was incomprehensible. Unpleasant images started flashing through my head. They were very unsettling, to say the least. What would he want me to do for him?  "You?" I started. "What do you mean?" I questioned.  "You will know soon enough." He changed the subject quickly. "Whose turn was it?" He asked.  "It was mine." I started. "Now tell me, what do you mean?"  "You cannot ask that."  "And why not?" I crossed my arms over my chest.  "I made this rule, just like you made yours." He replied.  "Okay, fine." I was going to know it anyway. Why the rush? "How long will this verdict take to get it done?" I can tell from his words that it was something I had to do, not a punishment or anything.  "I do not know." He answered, truthfully. "It could take a few days, months or maybe even years." He paused, thinking of a question. "Who chose your name?" His questions sounded weird compared to mine. I was taking advantage of the game to get to know him better, but he did not seem to do the same... Or maybe he did.  "That is a long story. I was the one who chose my name" I started. "I originally had a different name. I grew up used to be called that name." I decided not to share anymore details than that. "Why are you looking for your mate all of a sudden?"  "I used to have a mate. She was a sinner, just like me, but she left." He started. "The Moon Goddess punished us for our sins, but now she gave me a chance to redeem myself." I had previously heard of people getting second chances if their mate died. 'His mate must have died, that was why he was given another chance.' I concluded. But the weird thing was that normally they would be given that chance if they were a good doers and it was usually in the span of five to ten years at maximum. Not a couple of hundred years.  I am missing something.  However, I could not suppress that feeling of jealousy that started to consume me... "What was your name previously?" His question snapped me back to reality. I was very insecure about it and I did not want anyone to know it, but since I could not dodge a question in this game, I answered.  "Damona." He nodded silently. I did not know what made him so interested in my name. It made me uncomfortable.  "Tell me the truth, why are you being so nice to me? Are you really like this or are putting up an act?" I asked, but he did not get the chance to answer as I looked at his hand and noticed blood dripping down from it. "Hey! Your hand." My first instinct was to run to his aid and help him stop the bleeding. It was a very strange occurrence, considering that we wolves heal up really quickly, especially Alphas. He got startled and was going to shove his hand in his pocket where I could not get to it, but I was quick to catch it before he snatched it away.  I felt it... There was no mistaking it! Shock was on both of our faces, but his expression changed dramatically to annoyance and extreme irritation. It's like as if he was trying to hide it all this time, but failed...
