Thirty-Nine Town Hall Meeting The council chambers are packed. By the looks of it, every person who calls Thalia Island home, either as a settler or crew member, is present. Of course, the two faces I wish I did see sitting alongside me up here in the council seats are still in Vancouver. After a brief check-in with Tommy, who has the same up-to-date information I have from Catrina, I ease my sore body into my cushioned, high-backed chair and keep my fidgeting hands in my lap. The council members sit on an elevated platform behind a half-round continuous desk, skinny microphones extending from the far edge, one for each speaker. A legal pad and pen await important scribbles at each position, as does a clean glass, waiting to be filled with water from the chilled, sweating pitchers place
