My wolf, Cynthia, growled inside me, her voice sharp, her anger vibrating in my bones. “Why did you do that?” “No f*****g way… they will be our mates!” I replied to her. My breath stuttered. My chest tightened as if the air itself refused to go down my lungs. My body rejected the truth, the very bond she wants.
