One morning, Leander was meeting with Mrs. Taylor and her daughter Wardine concerning the upcoming nuptials to Mr. Basil Shocking.
“Is everything all right this morning?” he asked as they came into his office.
“She’ll be fine,” Mrs. Taylor answered. “Pre-wedding jitters is all.” Mrs. Taylor put her hand next to her mouth, as if to shield her words from her daughter. “Worried about the wedding night like I was, I’m sure.”
He blushed and continued his discussion with Mrs. Taylor. He couldn’t help notice how uncomfortable Miss Taylor was throughout the entire process. She remained focused on the knothole Emil had filled three years before.
