*The Next Morning*

"Grrrrrrrrgrgrgrgrgrgr" The annoying sound of the alarm woke me up as I crawled from my bed switching it off.

What a terrible headache.

I stood up as I walked into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror.

Memories of what happened yesterday flashed in and I couldn't help but to hit my head in frustration.

I should start looking for a new job now.

I heard my phone ringing and I walked out of the bathroom and went to the bedroom to take my phone.

Oh no!!!

It is Brian.

I couldn't pick the call before it stopped ringing.

What the hell 15 missed calls.

I had to call him back this time around.

"Sorry dear. I couldn't pick your calls because I was asleep '' I explained to him and he nodded.

"I understand, are you going to school today?" He asked.

I don't think I will be able to go, I couldn't sleep very well.

"I'm not sure," That was my reply.

"Okay," He said.

"I love you" I told him.

"I love you more," He replied.

"I love you more more more more!!" I said and I could hear him as he chuckled which made me smile.

Having a boyfriend like him is so great, I met Brian Sanchez when I was in high school.

I admired him a lot when I first met him, so cute, his smile was breathtaking. So I tried every means for him to notice me and when he did. He didn't like me at first but as time went on, we became friends.

From friends to best friends and from there we became lovers. We loved each other and everyone in the school knew about our relationship.

We even decided to go to the same college, I can't do without him.

"My childish girlfriend." He teased me and I smiled.

"1....2.....3...." We said at the same time as we ended the call at once.

That is what we do most of the time since nobody wants to end the call first.

Memories of what happened yesterday flashed in again making the smile on my face fade away.

I really want to cry right now

And who was the stranger I told my problem to yesterday?

I couldn't see his face well because I was drunk and he was putting on a face cap.

I really want to see Brian, maybe I should go to school today.

But I don't want to be embarrassed by the students, because I do fall asleep in the class due to the fact I don't get a good night's rest.

"Arrrrgggggggg" I groaned as my dad came in.

I don't have time to start explaining things this morning.

"Good morning dad," I greeted and he didn't reply.

"You came late yesterday and you were also drunk. Can you please explain what happened?" He asked bluntly and I guessed I'm going to reply him in a blunt way

"Okay fine. A guy tried to harass me yesterday and I gave him what he deserved and finally he is an important person, reported me to my boss." I said as I paused for a while.

"So what happened next?" My dad asked when he noticed I wasn't saying anything.

"So my anger took over and I lost my job. Are you okay now?" I asked sarcastically.

"Ruby!!! What have you done?" He cursed, hitting his fist on the wall.

"I defended myself. Please excuse me, I want to use this bedroom" I said politely so that he will leave.

He gave me a deadly glare and he just left.

I don't like my father, I actually preferred my mom but unfortunately for me she died.

Why would she leave me alone in such a cruel world that I will have to make money for myself and for my dad.

Being an only child is cool because I know we won't have to buy much. It is also not good because I'm lonely.

Apart from Brian, there is also a girl that is like my best friend. We are attending the same college as well.

Those are the only two people I consider as my closest.

I think I'm going to school, I need to tell Brian about what happened, he must not hear from another person.

I entered the bathroom as I hissed immediately I saw how swollen my eyes were.

It is really obvious I didn't sleep.

"She must have gone to meet those big men at night," Lucy teased and the whole class bursted into laughter.

That didn't affect me anymore; it is something I am already used to.

"I told you to stop sleeping in my class," The teacher warned..

I looked at Brian and he had that sorry look on his face which made me nod my head telling him I am okay.

"I'm sorry ma'am." I apologized.

"That is what you say every time, the next time you will sleep in my class I will make sure I punish you," The teacher warned sternly and I just nodded my head.

I already planned that after school I will go look for a part time job I can start doing.

"Thanks for the ride," I said waving at Brian as he drove his motorcycle off.

I entered my house..

"Woah woah woah!!!.What's with that look?" I flinch in fear as I saw the look on my dad's face.

"What are you still doing with that guy Huh?" My dad shouted pointing out of the window.

"You mean my boyfriend!!!" I said rashly.

"Yeah, I told you I don't want to see you with him anymore!!!" He reminded me.

"I know right?" I said as I touched my forehead in frustration.

"Dad, you see I'm not a kid that you can just control anyhow. I am 23 year old for God's sake.

I choose who I like and you don't have any right to tell me who I should date or not.

I can leave this house anytime you annoy me again at least I won't have to work for you." I said as I matched into my room angrily.
