Finding The Beautiful Princess Cenia Renae

Chapter 4

The next morning she woke up as the sun was peaking into the cave. She was so excited to start working on her magic. She knew if she could master her spell book then she'd be able to defeat the witch and finally return home where she belonged. She couldn't remember her past before the witch but, the more she thought about it she knew anything was better than living with the witch.

Golden Light woke up soon after and conjured her up the most delicious breakfast she'd ever seen. There was pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast and biscuits and she gobbled them all up while her companion conjured up some apples and oats for his breakfast.

Once breakfast was over they went to practice. Golden Light told her that it'd be best to start with the ones she's been already working on and once she got them working how she needed them to they'd start working on more. She started with the temporary invisibility and she by the end of the day she was just barely visible just like a shimmer of herself and she got it to last for about 10 minutes. It wasn't perfect but, it was good enough for someone not to realize it was a person or at least not her. She did have one advantage over the witch and that's that the witch didn't know she had found that spell book.

Now since the sun was setting and it'd be impossible to see if she's making any progress on the invisibility spell. She started working on the blinding light spell. So far all she could do was make it produce enough light to equal a small candle and she wanted to make it bright enough so she could see the entire inside of the cave before she retired for the night. Spent about two hours working on it and she was actually able to make light up the whole cave and actually keep the light shinning longer that the spell was supposed to last. Golden light told her, " Well you haven't mastered it as the spell goes but somehow you've twisted the spell and made it your very own and even more powerful if you can master the brightness." She was so excited to hear that she hugged him and petted him.

They both were so excited that the couldn't sleep right away so they sat there and Golden Light told her stories. He told her the story of her parents, about how they met. She thought, "Apparently he's been watching her family for some time but, why?" She decided now wasn't the time to ask she wanted to hear about her parents.So he began....

"The old king and queen cherished their daughter and only child and as she grew and the realized they couldn't have a son. So they started looking for their daughters future groom and the future king of the kingdom. They took several trips to neighboring kingdoms to see how they were raising their sons and to see to a betrothal between the kingdoms but, no one seemed worthy enough for their daughter.

Then when they thought there was no hope they got a letter from a neighboring kingdom but a little far for normal travel since it'd take three months to get there and back and the king and queen didn't like to leave their kingdom unattended that long. The letter said that they were in trouble and if they came to help they'd give their second sons hand in marriage. The king and queen knew nothing about this kingdom but, they were so desperate and they couldn't leave anyone in trouble if they asked for help.

The princess was now 16 years old and was almost considered too old for marriage. They appointed the king's brother temporary kingship until the returned took a thousand soldier and headed out to the other kingdom. They didn't want to bring their daughter along just in case it was dangerous but she insisted saying she wanted to see her future husband for herself.

It was a very long and tiresome journey they only stopped at night at an inn for a meal and some sleep through the whole journey scared that if they stopped anywhere else they'd be attacked by bandits.

For the first two months everything went smoothly but, at the boarder of the kingdom they were visiting they were stopped by a tree in the road. A few of the soldiers tried to remove the tree when they were jumped by bandits. As the soldiers fought a large group of bandits a smaller group snuck behind to the royal carriage and started pulling the princess out and shouting obscenities about what they wanted to do to her.

But when she thought all was lost a handsome young man came out of nowhere and slayed the bandits rescuing the princess. She thought since she could see he was of noble blood that maybe he'd be the man she was promised to marry. He introduced himself as the fourth prince of the kingdom and it made her sad since the betrothal was for the second son.

He escorted them for the next two weeks through his country to the castle. As they travelled and the prince and princess talked she started falling more and more in love with him. It was so bad that she was dreading getting to the castle to meet her betrothed because her heart already belonged to someone else.

When they arrived at the castle they were graciously greeted and the king's and queens went into the other room to discuss matters, while she sat it the parlor talking to the two princesses of the kingdom and they were easy to get along with and surprisingly not snobbish like most princesses. They sat there and talked for hours but, she couldn't completely feel at ease because she knew once that door opened she'd officially be betrothed to the second prince of the kingdom when her heart belonged to the forth prince. Then finally after two hours of waiting the Kings and queens finally emerged to give her the verdict. She was holding her breath when they began to speak saying, "We know the deal was for you to marry the second prince but, considering some new developments the second prince is no longer available for marriage but, our son who's the fourth prince of the kingdom has graciously accepted to marry you." And as they finished speaking the prince walked out from behind them and she ran and jumped into his arms and they were wed that night."

Cenia Renae loved hearing the story about her parents and thanked Golden Light and then they retired for the night.
