The next morning she woke up early and couldn't stop thinking about the book she was so tired that she hadn't done much more than examine the craftsmanship of the book it was a beautiful book but this morning she wanted to take a peek inside. She immediately pulled the book out and opened it and it shined brightly and had an incantation on the first page. "I am of royal blood and I summon my ancestors magic to use and defeat my enemies." she read quietly. After she finished the sentence the book glowed brighter and she had a warm tingly sensation all over her body.
She quickly put the book back under the mattress and started her daily chores. When the witch came out for breakfast she wouldn't stop staring at Cenia Renae she was so terrified that the witch might have found out that she found the book but, the witch didn't say anything. The day continued as normal until about lunchtime but when she headed back out to do the laundry the she saw the unicorn at the edge of the woods. She was so worried that the witch would see it she ran over to try and shoo it back into the woods but, instead of the unicorn spooking and running it turned and bowed it's head at her.
She walked out to it and reached out to pet it and surprisingly it allowed her too. She had no clue why this unicorn was here and what it had to do with her but, she knew she just couldn't let the witch see it. She gently guided the unicorn back into the woods so that the witch wouldn't see it as she attempted to have a conversation with it. She told it, "You shouldn't be here, it's to dangerous for you." the unicorn didn't even act like it heard her but, she continued. "If you don't leave here the witch will see you and use you for spells and drain any magic from you that you have left." The unicorn looked up then as if it understood and was now listening so she continued, "If you leave now and don't come back until after dark then I promise I'll sneak out to see you once the witch goes to sleep." The unicorn nodded it's head as if in agreement and turned and walk off further into the woods.
She was so relieved that the unicorn finally understood her and listened. After making sure the unicorn was far enough away she turned and headed back to doing the laundry. As she was doing the laundry she couldn't help but, think about her birthday luck yesterday she got magic and a unicorn. She was thinking, "Maybe this is the break I've been waiting for, if I learn enough spells to defend myself long enough to make it to the woods then I'll be able to ride the unicorn out of here and find a place where I can have a life." So she decided once the witch left for the day she'd start practicing her spells and do that every day until she's strong enough and at night she'll practice riding the unicorn.
Once the witch left for the day she pull out her book and started flipping through the spell book to see what spells she might be able to use against the witch but, all the spells she could find were intermediate or advanced. There were two intermediate ones that she could practice and they were, temporary invisibility and blinding lights. Then the advanced one was called lightning bolt which she doubted she could ever master anytime soon but, if she could manage to create a small bolt she might be able to temporary stun the witch.
She decided to practice the invisibility one first cause maybe if she could at least master that one she may not need use of the other two. She practiced and practiced but she only managed to make herself see through and it only lasted for 5 minutes. She thought to herself, "This is going to take a lot of practice maybe even months but, it's the only option I've got."
She put the book back in it's hiding place and went to fixing the witches supper. Then she went and got the laundry off the line and started folding it when the witch came home. The witch threw the door open and was glaring at Cenia Renae as she walked over to her food. Cenia Renae finished folding and putting the laundry and went to stand by the stove waiting for the witch to dismiss her for bed but, the witch didn't she just continued to eat occasionally glaring over at Cenia Renae. Once the witch finished eating she stood up and looked directly at her and finally opened her mouth to speak, "Tomorrow we are moving, I need you to get started on packing up everything." Cenia Renae replied, " Yes madame, I'll start first thing in the morning." "No!" yelled the witch, " You'll start now I want it all to be packed and ready to go first thing when I wake up, understood!" "Yes, mam." replied Cenia Renae. "Good, now get to work!" Yelled the witch. Cenia Renae went to the shed to get the burlap sacks and crates to pack up all the witches belongings before the witch got into any fowler of a mood. She was wondering what happened while the witch was out to make her suddenly decided to move but, she knew better than to ask so she just did what she was told.
She started with packing the witches room and grabbed the witches dirty laundry because the witch wanted it washed before they left. Once everything was packed except the bedding on the bed the witch decided to retire for the night while she stayed up packing the rest of the house but, when the witch was asleep she cast some spells to make the house pack itself and snuck out to wash the laundry and see the unicorn.
When she stepped outside she went to the shed and got the wash board and basin and cast a spell to make them wash themselves then headed to the woods. Once she was at the edge of the woods the unicorn walked out and started rubbing it's head up against her. She couldn't believe that she had her own unicorn and she looked at the unicorn and asked, "Do you mind if I try to ride you?" Then something really magical happened the unicorns horn began to glow. Once the glowing stopped the unicorn spoke saying, "Anything for you my princess, I'm here to serve you." Cenia Renae was so shocked she didn't know what to say. The unicorn continued, "I know me speaking to you comes as a shock to you but let me introduce myself to you, my name Golden Light, most people confuse me with a palomino because unless your magical I just look like a horse, only magical beings can see me for what I am unless I choose to show myself. The light I put off with my horn was be binding my consciousness with yours so now we can talk to each other no matter where we are."But, why me and why did you call me princess?" replied Cenia Renae. "The reason I called you princess is because you are, the witch kidn*pped you from the king and queen of the Star Bright kingdom when you were only three I saw the whole thing and decided to keep an eye on you. The reason I decided to bind myself to you is I've been watching you for a long time and I've seen the type of person you've become and you've got a pure heart." replied Golden Light. Then he leaned down so she could climb aboard. She was a little hesitant at first because he'd just spoken to her and the shock hadn't fully worn off yet but, she recovered and climbed on his back. And the went for small ride in the woods so she could become accustomed to riding.
Once the made it back to the small clearing when the witches cottage was the Golden Light asked her, "Why are you up cleaning so late tonight?" "Oh, the witch came home this evening and told me we were moving and I had to have everything packed tonight before she woke up in the morning." she replied. "She must have seen the posters your parents put up trying to find you." he said. They both went silent for a little bit before coming up with an idea.
