Nathaniel scrolled through his phone, his jaw stiffening as his expression darkened with each passing second. When he finally raised his head, his gaze locked onto Isla’s, and she knew this wasn’t simply another former shard of the puzzle. This was something far worse.
“You were right,” Nathaniel said slowly.
“Project Revenant was not solely Ethan. But it’s not about selling bioweapons anymore, either.”
Damien leaned forward. “If so, then what the hell is it about?”
Nathaniel paused before responding. “Lancaster has a plan B.”
The words sent a shivering chill through Isla’s spine “What contingency plan are you talking about?”
Nathaniel punched the screen, turning it to show them a classified document signed at the bottom by Richard Lancaster.
“It’s called Protocol Ashes,” he said.
