“What are you kids doing after this?” Aunt Gina asked as we walked to the cars.
Piper ended up parked next to me. She swung her keys around her finger and looked at Sofia. “We really don’t have any plans.”
“Most of the time Piper is working on Saturdays, but she asked off for this weekend so we could come to the sleigh rides. She’s never been,” Sofia said.
“Really? Well, this was an extra special treat to be here for your first sleigh ride,” Aunt Gina said. “You should have told us.”
“It was fun. I’m glad I took the night off. I don’t usually change my schedule, but I wanted to spend time with everyone,” Piper said. She held my gaze, and I felt ten feet tall. And about ten inches long.
