As soon as I was done with my classes, I hurried over to Riya's to check up on her but she was not in the classroom.
“Hey.” Laurie called my attention as she stood up from her desk and walked towards where I was standing by the doorway. “It seems your wife has got a thing for skipping classes. I didn't take her for a silly little rebel too.”
“Save your drama for another day, Laurie. I don't have time for any of your bullshit.” I ignored her completely and walked out of the classroom again. I checked the cafeteria, the library and the school field for Riya but there were still no signs of her.
Laurie was right. She had missed classes today. All because of me.
