Noor stood up so quickly that her chair scraped against the floor. Musa looked confused, but Noor didn’t even hear him. She felt her eyes sting, her throat tighten, her legs move on their own. She whispered, trembling, “Apa…?” Suzain’s tired but bright face lit up instantly. “Noor!” Noor ran. Ran like she hadn’t run in years. And Suzain opened her arms—wide, warm, trembling with emotion—as Noor collided into her chest. Noor wrapped her arms around her sister and held her as tightly as she could. Tears spilled before she could stop them. “Apa… why are you here…? When did you—? How—?” Noor choked in half-words, smothered in sobs. Suzain kissed her forehead again and again. “Pagal! Mujhe apni behen ka janamdin bhool sakti hoon kya? Main sirf tumhe dekhne aayi hoon… sirf tumhaare liye.” Noor’s tears fell harder. For months she had held herself strong—away from home, away from warmth, away from the hug that felt like home. Today, that home had come to her. Students in the library glanced at them but Noor didn’t care. She buried her face in Suzain’s shoulder, letting every hidden emotion melt. Suzain wiped her tears. “Bas bas… meri strong Noor rona bandh karo. Dekh, mascara fail gaya poora!” Noor laughed through her tears. That laugh was the most beautiful sound Suzain had heard. Musa Watches Quietly Musa, still seated with his books, watched the two sisters with a soft smile. He didn’t interrupt. He simply admired the purity of it—the bond, the raw emotion, the love he saw in Noor’s eyes. Something stirred in him, something gentle. So this was Noor… Soft-hearted. Family-loving. Deep. Nothing about her was shallow. He turned his gaze away respectfully, giving them space.
