FRANCHESCA PoV
As reminiscing about what happened last night, It was a total shock to me.
"What will I be able to do now?" I mumble to myself.
"This isn't right."
"I didn't even know him."
"I promised to myself I will lose my virginity to the one I loved. The man I intend to marry and keep as my spouse throughout our lives."
"What have I done?"
Those phrases rumble in my mind. Now, I'm unsure of what to do. In order to prevent the man sleeping next to me from waking up, I rise up gently and silently. To check the time, I looked for my phone but was unable to locate it. I simply pick up my clothing and put it on.
"Where are my things, my handbag, my phone?"
"I need them before going out of this room."
I worriedly said to myself while looking around every corner of the room.
Then I recalled that I had excused myself from my companions last night so that I could catch some fresh air on the veranda. My handbag was left on my chair.
"Maybe Lily, a friend of mine, will pick up my belongings for me."
Lily was my closest friend and eventually my best friend when I moved to London to study. Finally, in just one year's time, we will both graduate with doctorates in our hands.
Last night, she invited me here at the hotel because it's her cousin Rey's birthday. That is why we were hanging out while suddenly my intention was caught by a man who cast a spell on me and changed me in a night.
"Oh, speaking of my friend Lily, she was undoubtedly worried about me last night for sure because I failed to inform her of what transpired when I left without bringing my belongings with me."
I expressed concern.
The one thing that worries me the most is how my parents, especially my father, will react when they learn about me and what I did the previous night with another guy. I am quite familiar with my father, and he is really rigid in the way he does everything.
But the first thing I have to do is leave this place as soon as possible. When this individual awakens, I can't face him. After what occurred to us, I am unsure of how to respond to him or what to say.
I gaze at him anxiously as I quickly and discreetly approach the door to open it and exit so as to avoid being heard and make any means of noise to wake him up. I give him one last glance as I go closer to the door and get ready to open it. Before I leave and possibly won't see him again, there is a small ache in my heart for not knowing him. Even his name, I have no idea.
"This was a one-night mistake."
"After the way he began to stare at me, touch me, and want me more and more, I am unable to contain myself."
Painfully, I told myself.
I cautiously fling open the door and go outside. My final thoughts before I finally see him lying on his back in the bed are,
"Farewell"
---
I've successfully left the room at this point. Perhaps, my anxiety will lessen a little now. As I walk through the hallway there are more rooms I pass by, and I turn the other side of the pathway, where I spotted the veranda, where the intensity started.
I pause, as I thinking again his generally attractive appearance, which is still fresh in my mind. Then I merely thought, should I just leave him there in the room and leave without any notice or wake him up and discuss about what happened last night before I go? My skeptical mind now is so confused about what to do. But my other mind is dominating and reminding me that I should go without any trace because this is wrong.
"Giving yourself, your all to someone you did not know very well, you did not even love? Franchesca, really?"
I insanely think.
Devoting yourself, in my perspective, implies that you two should be deeply in love and committed to one another. I mean, love is more powerful than lust or any physical desires.
I'm not that innocent when it comes to love and relationships; it's just that I hadn't been in a committed relationship with someone before. I have only ever focused on my studies during my entire life. Perhaps as the only daughter of the Maxwell family, I have felt pressure throughout my entire life. My parents sent me here in London to pursue my Phd in Biomedicine, which is a few year more and finally the long wait is done. They are strict, especially my dad, when in comes in "achievement" for me, as the successor of Maxwell Medical Hospital, which my father spent years establishing. Both my parents finished their medical studies here in London, and the practice went on when I also had an interest in pursuing this career.
I feel more anxious when I consider all of those things. I stroll on, passing the veranda and walk through out the hotel, then boarding a cab.
When I got to my apartment, the receptionist greeted me and gave me the thing I had been hunting for all morning. Yes, it's the handbag I missed at the bar.
"Good morning, Miss Franshesca Maxwell. Your friend Lily just came by last night and left your handbag here, she inquire as to why you aren't in your condo and informed us as if you got back, but we told her you hadn't been back since then."
The personnel reported.
"Thank you so much. I will just call her, " I replied.
After the receptionist handed over my handbag, I rushed to my condo and took the phone from my handbag, then called Lily because I knew she was really worried last night.
Her phone is ringing, and for a few seconds she picks it up.
"Hello, Lily. It's me. "
"Franchesca! What happened to you? Where did you go? I'm worried about you. I thought you came home to your condo last night. But you weren't. " She worriedly asked,
"I'm so sorry, Lily, for making you worry so much about me."
I sadly replied to her.
"I can't contact you because you left your phone in your handbag, I was so worried that I thought I'd call your parents right away if you didn't come home today."
She firmly said.
"I'm fine, Lily. Okay, please don't say anything to my parents about last night. I will explain it to you at school tomorrow."
"Yeah, I know. But where were you last night before excusing yourself? " She asked me
"Ahmm, I'm still at the hotel, so I'm fine." I said
I don't know if I should tell her what really happened last night: that I slept with a man. These thoughts make me very anxious. But I knew and trusted her. She's my trusted friend afterall, who I can rely on.
"Okay then, so let's just talk tomorrow, okay," she finally said.
Then I say goodbye and hang up the phone. I rushed straight to the bathroom and filled the bathtub with warm water, adding a lavender soaking solution for relaxation that I badly needed to ease my anxiety for the past few things that had happened already. Afterwards, I lighted the candle with an ocean breeze aroma. The atmosphere in the bathroom is now revitalizing. I swiftly take off my garments and get ready to take a warm, soothing bath. I close my eyes as I feel every sweltering soak of the bathtub plus the calming aroma of the candle that is so stimulating in breath.
In between my thoughts, I might eventually tell Lily what happened the night before. She's been in a relationship, so I think I can open freely to her. I calmly utter it to myself. She looks naive on the outside, but she is more charismatic and unusual than I thought.
But what my mind focused on more was the different feeling of having a sensual experience with that man. I can't help but think over and over about it. I still picture him in my mind.
"Hayyy...." I sigh. I want to calm myself now. I don't want to consider it any longer.
