A solitary bolt of lightning burst across the black sky, followed by many others that flashed over the horizon like the Northern Lights. Allixon had a fleeting thought that it would be nice if she wasn't so terrified. The wind had been fierce enough, blowing waves into the boat. The sky had opened up, and sheets of rain pelted the water in an unyielding staccato. Allixon had no idea that a bright day might turn terrible so quickly.
