chapter 2
a deadly nightmare
hazel staired from one place to another on the bed her face carried the heavy weight of discomfort, her brows pressed together as beads of sweat formulated on her head like marching soldiers.
" what do you want, who are you"
hazel muttered in her sleep, her voice trembled slightly as the dream took hold of her.
" I don't belong to you, no you can't take me away, leave please, leave me to my fate i beg you" her voice cracked, as tears rolled down her eyes and into her hair.
" hazel, hazel !!!" an elderly lady rolled into hazel room, her face gripped with concern.
"hazel are you okay" the lady asked as she rolled her
wheel chair next to Hazel bed, she placed her palm on hazel's head, her eyes widened, she was burning up. she quickly took a cloth near hazel and placed it on her head, hoping to calm her down,
"hazel, wakeup please" she tapped her shoulders gently, hoping to free her from her nightmares.
hazel frown grew deeper as more tears fell from her eyes
" no you won't get it, I don't want to die, I want to live, please, let go of me, please stop it hurts, stop dragging me, I don't want to go with you please stop " hazel begged, her voice grew desperate as more tears fell.
"hazel, hazel !!!" the old lady shouted directly into hazel ears.
"I will never let you go" were the last words that hazel heard in her head, the last words that exploded in her head and dominated her mind before her eyes flew open and a gasp left her mouth.
hazel sat up from the bed, her eyes wide open, her body shaking as her eyes darted back and forth, her breathing unstable, her gaze settled on the woman in front of her, she looked past her and stared at the door, as though expecting something or someone to walk in.
"hazel" the old lady called her name softly, making hazel gaze to fall on her.
her eyes were wide and unsettling, her breath raspy and short, her body trembling as if she had a cold.
the old lady's eye grew bigger, by heaven's light she was shaking, she seemed terrified. when hazel had woken up, her heart skipped a beat, she had risen with so much force.
"mum" hazel's called out, her voice trembling slightly, she looked and sounded weary.
" daughter" she smiled gently. " how much longer do you want to frighten me??" her voice sounded slim yet loving, " you were shaking badly love, had a nightmare?"
hazel nodded
"mind sharing?, some things are better off shared than shouldering alone" her voice sounded so calm and enchanting, like a calm water that flooded hazel head and drowned her fears, soothing her thoughts.
hazel opened her mouth to speak, her throat, mouth and lips were completely dried, her lips chapped.
" i.." hazel immediately slam her mouth when she realized something awful.
" I.." her dry voice flooded the room, thin yet audible.
" I don't remember, not even a single thing" she said, tears Choked her words as it Clouded her eyes. the old woman stared at her doubtfully, her eyes squinted, her brows pressed together.
" are you sure?, hazel if you don't want to tell me you can say that, although something are better off shared than shouldering alone"
" I don't remember, and i mean it" hazel said.
" hmm, fine then"
" by the way how is your body hazel, you were burning up when I checked you, are you okay, you can skip school and rest for today, while I buy you medicines for fever, how does that sound?"
hazel smiled gently.
" no mom, I'm okay, besides I can't miss school,it would ruin my perfect attendance." hazel said
" are you sure?" the old lady asked, the look of concern written allover her face.
" yes mum" hazel assured her with a bright smile.
the old woman finally conceded.
" fine, then I won't have you go late, bath quickly and come down for breakfast " she said sternly
" why so serious all of a sudden now mum, come on I take you out " hazel said as she swung her leg down from the bed and held her mom wheel chair and gently pushed her out of the room.
she then closed the door, undressed and had a quick bath, wore her clothes and ran down for a quick breakfast before running to school.
hazel reached the school just before class started, her hair was somehow a mess.
she was about entering the class when she ran into ber bestfriend Ginger.
" you look ugly" was the first comment Ginger made when she saw her.
"thanks, you don't look too bad yourself Ginger bread " hazel said her voice laced with sarcasm.
ginger just rolled her eyes playfully before leaning in to speak her usual gossip
" did you hear?" Ginger asked foolishly
" no I didn't hear, I never hear anything because I don't care remember " hazel said
" there's a new boy coming in now" ginger said.
" and so what?"
ginger rolled her eyes." " I should have known you wouldn't care" ginger said before walking in side the class and slamming her butt on her chair.
hazel and ginger were far from each other in terms of seating.
the bell rang and soon enough, students started walking in like bees.
" hey loser"
" what's up ugly"
"how's your day going ginger bread"
were hurtful words that were directly sent to ginger and hazel, but mostly hazel.
hazel just rolled her eyes at them.
the teacher suddenly walked in, a smile animated on his lips.
"listen up students" the teacher called out, the class quieted down for him to speak.
"today is not like any other day class" the teacher said
" and what makes it different?" a voice from the back asked. the teacher smiled.
" because today class we have a new student" the teacher announced
most of the class just rolled their eyes, nothing new there.
suddenly the door flew open and everyone talking immediately kept mute, the temperature suddenly dropped making everywhere cold for hazel.
"goodday everyone" the guy spoke, his voice deep and commanding.
hazel eyes grew uncontrollably and her face turned pale.
"my name is Liam"
hazel opened her mouth and a gasp escaped her lips, her mind suddenly went black as a sudden wave of deja Vu washed her.
