Melissa’s plan

Selene’s POV “Old fox! What is she feeling like?” I said under my breath as Melissa walked past me back to her room. My phone beeped. It was a text message from Storme, my mood softened and I unlocked my phone to read the message. “Meet me at the office. I miss you,” it read. A smile formed on my lips as I put the phone back in my pocket. I had been so obsessed with Zara that I had almost forgotten that Storme still existed. I missed him too, and maybe after Melissa revealed her plan to me tonight, I could find some pleasure in his arms. I reapplied my lipstick and walked leisurely through the living room into the hallway, down to where the office was located. Not bothering to knock, I opened the door and went in, locking the door firmly behind me. I met him sitting on his desk with his tie loose, and shirt unbuttoned down to his chest. “What is he up to now?” I rolled my eyes as I walked up to him. His blue eyes looked dark and watery, hazy even. His hair was rough in a way that made him hotter than I had ever seen him, he was sweating, though the room was cold with the air conditioning whirring in a corner of the office. Without warning, he grabbed me and placed a kiss on my lips. “S..stop!” I murmured in between his hungry kisses, pushing him away feebly. He didn’t budge, and soon, I could feel something hard pressing against my stomach. Unable to resist him anymore, I grabbed his hair and pulled him closer, returning his kisses passionately. “Hmm…” I moaned. I felt his hands travel all over my body as if searching for something, he grabbed my butt and squeezed hard. “Oh…Storme,” I mouthed in between kisses. His hands had found their way to my chest, caressing my breasts ever so softly when I suddenly came to and pushed him away. “Stop this!” I said as I adjusted my dress. “But babe, I miss you…” he said as he came closer to me and kissed my neck again. “Get off me and get a grip!” I screamed and pushed him even harder. I was getting impatient with Storme. “I’m here trying to take care of what you couldn’t, so just stay put and let me concentrate, I have things to do!” I added and walked out, leaving him staring after me with his mouth agape. I went into the spare room I used whenever I was here visiting Zara, it felt strange now to refer to it as my room, especially after all the drama that had happened between us. A part of me convicted me that it was shameless to still present myself at her house after what I did to her, but the other part of me just didn’t care, it wasn’t like she’d wake up one day and decide to beat me up anyways. She was naive, weak, and powerless, she would do nothing but cry and mope and feel like the victim. And her father who appeared to be her only protector was frail in health with one leg in the grave. I just needed to hear Melissa’s plan and see if it would be any good. I needed her out of the way so I could finally enjoy the blissful future I had always dreamed of as Storme’s Luna. Once she was out of my way, other barriers seemed easy to overcome. I flopped down on the bed and checked my watch, it was a few minutes past seven pm. I picked my phone and set an alarm for 8:30. Yawning, I stretched on the soft bed and closed my eyes to get some rest. I woke up at the sound of the alarm with a banging headache. “My body must be reacting to the stress I’ve been putting it through, poor girl,” I whispered as I stood up from the bed and washed my face and changed into a tight fitted pants. My wolf let out a sigh. “All this will soon be over,” I reassured her and put on a black hoodie. I couldn’t risk the chance of being seen sneaking around the estate by anybody. The area was empty when I got there. I replayed her words from earlier in the day to be certain that I had heard her correctly. It was 9:20pm, and she still wasn’t here. “Perhaps I’m late? Maybe she came and left immediately because she didn’t see me? Or she just tricked me into coming out here?” I questioned myself in a low murmur. Presently, the rustling of dry leaves proved that I wasn’t alone. I took out my handy knife and stood at alert. I was wise enough to know that this could have been a trap, I had survived on my own for this long by not trusting anyone, especially when they were my best friend turned worst enemy’s sister. “You’re here,” she finally said, removing her hood to reveal her face. The moonlight illuminated her pale face and she stood like a ghost against the background of the dark woods. “Yes,” I replied, sheathing the knife and returning it to its place on my waist. “I have evidence that she has been meeting with a member of the rival pack,” she stated. “Rival pack? You mean vicious howl?” I asked, confused. Zara was many things, but I never thought she would be brave enough to go against the pack, or even her beloved father. “She appears to be mated to one of them, and they have been meeting in secret,” she said, taking a step closer to me. “Ermm…, so what am I supposed to do with that information?” I asked, getting nervous with each step she took forward. “That’s where you come in, bird. Start a rumor that she has been having an affair with a member of the vicious howl pack, who happens to be her mate, and has probably been leaking pack information to him,” she added. “But how could I…?” I stuttered and she cut me off. “Spare me all of that, you took her man, didn’t you? Surely you can spread a few rumors! You can’t even call it a rumor exactly, because it’s true, and a member of their pack infiltrated us during the mating ceremony which happens to be her coming of age ceremony! The story just adds up, doesn’t it? Just do it and stop acting like you’re better than a rumor monger,” she barked at me. I smiled with sheer happiness. This was a lot easier than I had thought. Soon, Zara would be done for, and out of my life for good. The only hindrance now would be her father. “So what happens after?” I asked Melissa. “Just do as I have said and leave the rest to me,” she said and walked away, disappearing into the cold night.
